Side Effects Of Leflunomide

I have Lupus/RA. I noticed before even starting this drug I was waking up at night with barely any blood flow in my extremities. My arms and fingers would be completely dead. I have been taking the drug about two weeks. This past week my arms, fingers, feet and toes have been numb and tingling. I feel like there is no blood in them at all. This week i have also been getting unusual headaches and now blurred vision. Shortly after my period stopped i started bleeding again and been spotting constantly since. I am much more tired then usual, to the point where it hurts to be awake at unusual times. When you have auto immune disease you always feel bad. If these are side effects from the drug will they most likely go away after i have been using it for awhile. I am desperate for something to work for me. I have been through so many drugs that eventually did more harm then good. I just want to feel somewhat like a normal person again. Should i stick it out the rest of the month or stop taking it now? I will call my rheumatologist monday, but would appreciate any insight or if any one else had similar things happen while on this drug. Thank You.

Yes, the FDA does say that side effects may go away, once your body gets used to the treatment, but no specific time frame is given. You may also experience skin rash, stomach pain, gas, and runny nose.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I am also just starting this med my RA doc just told me if you get a skin rash it is a all over body rash that is very noticeable TO STOP TAKING IMMEDIATELY there are many other RA meds to try
