yes--i have been taking this medication for about 8 months and have gained about 10 pounds

Same here. Took it years ago- gained a quick 10lbs and when I stopped taking it 10lbs dropped off with no effort. Also possible bloating. But, the mood was the difference between night and day.

Weight gain, mild or severe, is a very common side effect of most antidepressant medications.

I have been taking amitriptyline for 7 months and i have not gained any weight that i have noticed. i do go to the doctor tomorrow, so if i have ill respond to this and let you know that i have. But i am 27 and am built skinny, i weight about 135lb. Hope that will help others.

Yes ,iIwas given this for my nerve endings after an operation which did work .But i did gain weight which I am now trying to get off.
