Sick From Nalaxone In Suboxone

I was on methadone for 15 years, up to 300mg at the most. I recently switched to suboxone, after a slow taper to 20mg of the done. I have been on sub for 5 days now, needing 6 to 8mg a day. My question is why does my stomach hurt so bad after the dose wears off? I have tried splitting doses and it alleviates the stomach pain temporarily. Could this be the nalaxone in the suboxone? Or can methadone hang out and cause withdrawals still, even though the suboxone covers for it. All started from a surgery at 15 years old, fron post surgery pain management. then a pediatrician started me on methadone for the pain and eventually referred me to a methadone clinic when I was 18.

Forgot to add I get 8/2mg(bupe/ nalaxone) sublingual strips, and split it in two for a total of one strip a day.

Are you still taking the methadone (20mg) along with the suboxone or did you taper off methadone altogether?

According to NIH.gov, an upset stomach, stomach discomfort or stomach pain, are all listed as side effects of buprenorphine.

NIH.gov also lists stomach pain as a side effect of methadone.

However, it could also be any number of the binders/fillers (inactive ingredients) from one or both medications.

Narrowing down the culprit could be challenging with so many variables at play, but odds are that it's one of the meds to blame.

No, only the suboxone. I'm just starting to think maybe methadone may be a tad better. I never had these issues b4. Just feels weird cause it's as soon as the buprenorphine dose fades a bit. Then it goes away after dosing. Could it be the nalaxone is my question.
