In most cases, the same antibiotics are used for canines and humans. This pill contains 200mgs of Cefpodoxime, a generic for Vantin. This is an antibiotic.

Some of the most common side effects include: drowsiness, rash, nausea and diarrhea.

Thank you very much - my dog started this 3 days ago and he keeps vomiting a few hours after taking it - I was wondering if I should cut the tablet in 1/2 and give it to him 2x's a day instead of one?

I suggest consult with the vet, they'll have a better idea of how to handle it.
