My husband and i were in a serious car accident and suffered severe damage to the lumbar spine five years ago. February 9,2007 he overdosed in the middle of the night. Early Friday morning he wasent sleeping next to me but lieing dead down stairs on the kitchen floor. He was already purple but I tried to resesitate him myself as he did for me once before and saved my life. Even when the cops got there I couldnt let go it took a few of them to physically remove and i still havent let go. He was tweenty five years oldand one of the kindest most gentle souls this world will ever know. Ive tried to go with him where ever it is that he went but they just wont let me through the gates. My pain overwhelms my every breath. Guilt and regret have darkened my heart. I have tried to detox many many times many many ways. i take about ten thirties a day, some days ten times that amount. Before i even open my eyes the crusher is in my hands. Blues have destroyed my life, my mind, and my spirit. My age gives me youth but death has already taken me. I dont know if I will ever be able to dry out completely for now my addiction is weighing me to the bottom of the ocean. If you are actually reading this all I want to tell you is to just dont ever do one. Even if you think you are a strong swimmer after awhile anyones arms will get tired.

I am very sorry to hear about what you have gone through and what you are still going through. So very sad and tragic.

I would also like to state that for those who use it only as prescribed and suffer chronic pain, Oxycodone is a life saver.

Have you tried pursuing Suboxone treatment? Many people have found this to be effective in beating Oxy addictions.

Honey I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds as if you both were on a path to selfdestruction and he went first. You have a second chance. I take Roxicodone myself and I know how quickly you can build up a tolerance to it. Taking the amount you are taking I don't understand how you are still here. You shouldn't be. That should tell you something. Obviously your life has a purpose, you just haven't found it yet and as long as you stay on this path you won't ever find it. Don't let his death be in vain. Clean yourself up for you and for him. Think of the help you could bring to others if you got clean and were able to share you story with other people. You need counseling and a good rehab facility. You need to draw strength from the love the two of you shared, not the drugs. You have a beautiful soul, that is evident from the wonderful way you speak, it's like poetry. You can take this pain and write a journal, write poems or songs. You can do or be anything. Don't you think he would want that for you? Do you truly believe this life you are living is the way he would want you to live? Don't you think his memory deserves better than this? Don't keep repeating the mistakes. Let your love for him guide you to a new, better place. A place where you can find peace and happiness and help other people from making the same mistakes the two of you did so that some other woman or some other man doesn't lose the love of their life, their soulmate, due to drugs. Take your passion, your gifts and share them with the world. You have talents. What you wrote is beautiful. Do you know how many people would love to be able to write something as eloquently as you wrote in just a paragraph. Don't deprive the world of your beauty and your knowledge. Put what you have learned to good use. Share it with the world, share it with kids in school. Please get the help you need to get off these drugs. Life truly does go on and once you get sober the pain you are feeling will start to become bareable. You will never forget him, nor stop loving him, but you have a chance at a new life and a chance to find a different kind of love someday. Please, put down the pills and take the chance.

i have worked in the club business for fifteen years, i have seen a lot of drug trends come and go. cocaine then GHB then extacy now the oxy and roxy trend but this trend is scary. The reason is because of the availability to the public. It is easier to get a roxy than an asprin now days.It is putting cocaine out of business! This is not the drug dealers fault. this is the fault of the FDA because they allow the doctors to write a script for these pills for just about anything. EDUCATION I live in florida u can drive to south florida go to a (pain management clinic ) that is what they call these legal drug dealers. If i use the right words like cronic pain then i can get a script for 246 roxys for one month! cost is about five hundred and resale street value is over 4000, and that is thirty five hundred per month profit! its a no brainer . i dont understand why the govt and the FDA allow this to go on, i only hope that their families r being torn apart by this nightmare like the rest of the families in this country.

I understand how some people become dependent on oxycodone and other pain medication and others just abuse them. But, there is help for those with a dependency (suboxone). I have severe chronic neck pain due to damaged discs and need a surgery the FDA is still in the process of approving it. If it were not for my pain meds. I would be unable to get out of bed and live life. I am only 41 and have 2 young children to take care of. If this type of medication is used as directed, I believe it can give pain patients their lives back! Once I can have my surgery, I will go on Suboxone to be able to safely get off the meds.

My daughter got terribly addicted to painkillers in NYC. She died at 31.
Of course she was mentally ill with borderline personality disorder. There was no way for me to help her. Parents should be allowed to become guardians of opiate addicts whether pills prescribed by doctor or not.

You sound like just because she had a mental illness she wasn't a person.we are people we just deal with problems in different ways. May God Bless you
