Pur Bloka 40mg

Can not be found at any chemist in Bloemfontein. Are there any available meds that will do the same work?

The drug maker Aspen say that it will only be available again from the end of March, 2015. They gave no reason for the shortage, but a pharmacist told me that it has to do with the availability of the Propranalol molecules. You can try Inderal. It is more expensive, but it is the original commercial drug that Pur-Bloka is based on. It didn't work for me though.

Thanx for reply. Inderal and indoblock is also not avalable in Bloemfontein. My dr prescribed another pill that will temporary help me and it helped accept for migrain that knocked me over on sunday, propably because my heart felt like drums. The name is bisoprolol.

Wow, a minute later somebody from Aspen called me and said they expect supply to pick up again from Mid-April! That's good news.

July 2016. There is another shortage again of Pur Bloka in South Africa. They have been running low of the 40Mg for several months now. Now they are also out of the 10 Mg. Dischem has no stock at all. Not sure what the cause us this time around.

Hi. I am from South Africa. The doctor here has prescribed me Concerta (25mg) for my concentration. However, I am also taking Pur Bloka (40mg) for stress and anxiety. Is this ok for me to take as well?

Hi Angela, Did you tell your doctor that you were taking the Pur-Bloka? As long as he knows that you are taking both.

Purblocka has been off market for some time now, is there a reason for that esp with so many of us depending on the pill

Yes, there is a shortage again of Pur-Bloka. You can ask for Indeblok or the actual brand name drug Inderal. That should achieve the same purpose as Pur-Bloka. Be sure to also ask around at several different pharmacies.

If a prescription is at a pharmacy that can't supply Pur-Bloka, Inderal or Indeblok. how can i get another pharmacy that does have any of the medicine in stock?

You would either have to ask your doctor to give you a copy of the prescription or ask your pharmacy to release the original prescription back to you. Fortunately, most pharmacies are willing to give you a temporary supply of the drug without requiring a doctor's prescription. Personally, I prefer to go to my doctor to get another prescription so that I can build up a supply of spare tablets for myself at home.

We could not find any Pur-Bloca or Inderal anywhere the doctor prescribed Antenolol - the best thing ever - my husband takes one a day and he is different person, bloodsugar much lower and stable, able to sleep without anxiety, never go back to Inderal.

Dr prescribed Cardiocor 2.5mg half tab twice daily in place of purblocka 40mg twice daily which is not available at moment..for migraine prophylaxis.... will the cardiocor work? It seems to have different ingredients.

I asked my doctor about switching to a different drug for migraine prophylaxis, and he said in his experience that nothing else works like Pur-Bloka does.

I take Pur Bloka for essential tremor. also tried Atenolol, but unfortunately it's completely ineffective for my condition.

Aspen has sold the drug Pur Bloka to a different manufacturer. I am trying to find out who that is. But you should be able to get Indoblock 10 or 40Mg for now which is the same generic ingredient. I was able to get Indoblock at Springbok Pharmacy. You can also ask for Sandoz Propranolol (Made by Sandoz) or Prodorol (made by Be Tabs Pharmaceuticals). Indoblock is made in 10mg or 40mg by Gulf Drug Company in South Africa.
