Problem Filling Prescription

Updated

To whom it may concern,
I was in a serious motorcycle accident at the end of 2013. I went to my doctor to b checked out and I was in such excruciating PAIN. My life was changed and filed with pain and I've got a Great DR. who has helped get my life back to as close to manageable. I have great insurance but before that I had to pay cash and they we're charging 800$ every month. I would appreciate any help you can give me. I've got all my documentations. I've been on Methadone 10mg every since I had my MRI. Also my dr wrote me oxycodone 20mg for break through I take more meds. but I also take anti-imflamatory

Ok here it is, I live in Central Florida and in 2010 multiple agencies did a statewide sweep to shut down the (PILL MILLs) and Doctors who were part of the problem. Now the people with legitimate needs for the medications to help them live life the best they can cannot get their meds. I fall in the same category and post aftermath the bigger Pharmacy chains seem to have a script that they tell you when
you hand them your prescriptions for Schedule II narcotic, they tell me we don't have enough to fill, or come back tomorrow or next week. I've heard many people are suffering from the same problem. What happened to a Dr. writing you a prescription and a pharmacy honoring the script. Especially when your Dr. is highly recommended and is a resident at a Hospital.

@ducatitoney,

Not to sway off topic, but just had a few personal thoughts regarding the problems people are having with filling their prescriptions. The situation many pain patients are facing here in America when it comes to filling a legitimate Rx is quite disheartening to say the least. From a broad perspective, we know the DEA is responsible for many of these new rules and restrictions that have recently come to light. But one problem I see in relation to that, is a large percentage of people in this country don't seem to care about fighting for what we feel is right and I think a lot of us have forgotten how to take a stand and use this freedom we possess for our own good.

With possibly millions of US citizens carrying painful chronic conditions, there's certainly no shortage of a backing for holding rallies. And I wonder how else will the government ever truly know that something needs to be changed on a larger scale if these patients sit back quietly in the comfort of their home? Some people may find it easier to just move to another country that has better healthcare. Others turn to more readily available alternative/natural treatment options. But what about those of us who don't have either of those luxuries? There's gotta be a breaking point where the pharmacist/DEA has to step down off the pedestal and let the doctor do his/her job...

Thanks for letting me vent! Does anyone else have thoughts to share on the matter?

That is exactly what i'm trying to do. I've called tons of representatives in government, both in my state and outside, with not one return phone call. I've called hospital administrators to complain bc now doctors are deciding that suicide is a better alternative to prescribing meds that have been needed for the chronic pain. And ive called almost every lawyer in tucson to get someone to help do a legal case against the dea, and ive been either not called back, laughed at, called a druggie or told that im wrong and there is no case!!! What the heck do we do. I think we need more ppl to back us up, {edited for privacy} please let me know if u want to help. I'm desperate for more ppl to back me up, this is not okay. In two months ill have zero pain meds and then i cant do anything bc i will be unable to even get out of bed.
