Have just been prescribed prevacid solutab for infant with reflux. This tablet looks different from the one I'm familiar with in that it has no pink granules. It's white and is of a completely smooth consitency...no beads in it at all so i am concerned that it isnt time released....

Verwon Says:

A solutab is an orally disintegrating tablet, meant to start dissolving on contact with the saliva in someone's mouth and it not supposed to look like the other tablets.

If this is for an infant, then that makes sense, because they may choke on a regular tablet.

Prevacid contains the active ingredient Lansoprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce th amount of acid produced by the stomach.

It may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, gas and stomach pain.
