Percocet Aint Working For Me Anymore What Should I Do?

I had a car accident back in 1993 and I have 5 pinched nerves really really bad I've been taking percocets since 1993 till today's date I've been on 602 endocet and on the 10/325milligrams but they are not working for me anymore what should I do I am on extreme pain everyday what should I tell my doctor I don't want him to think that all I want is drugs??? Please help me

It is completely normal for your body to eventually become tolerant to a medication that you've been taking for a long period of time, your doctor is aware of that. It happens to everyone, sooner or later, it's actually impressive that they've worked for you for so many years.

But it is inevitable that someone will eventually need to switch to a different medication or require a higher dosage.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

It's best to be honest with your doctor about the situation, but to avoid being perceived as a drug seeker, don't ask for any specific medication, or dosage to replace it. Let them suggest something.

Does anyone else have any advice or ideas to offer?

What would be the next percocet 10\325 's that i could get for my break through med? I have taken them for over ten years now and they are not working. I also take these twice s day, morphine sulf 30 mg tab`s. But its my (perks ) break though meds that dont work any more. PleAse help me ,
