I can't find any information on a medication by the name "Paquil" - Are you referring to "Paxil" perhaps? If so, Paxil (Paroxetine) is actually an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Although it is not usually prescribed for arthritis some studies have shown that this medication may be able to help with arthritis pain- very likely due to the fact that it decreases anxiety which may help with pain sensations.
However, I have also read that Paxil can even cause Arthritis or joint pains so it seems as if the studies aren't that thorough at this point and time.

I have lupus and was prescribed Paquil. was told this was a chemo like drug. is this correct?
