Pain Pumps With Fentynal

Has anyone had their pain pump changed from moriphine to fentynal? I had a medibalic pump implant done may of 2013, after being on oral meds for a decade. I really thought my life would have great improvements yet im very disappointed with the results. Once you have the implant its next to impossiable to find a new doctor to take over. My doctor will not give anything for break through and its not affective for me without. I have called medabalics they were no help, they by law have to report problems to the dea and to your dictor. I would like him to try switching me to fentynal but he would rather try to sell me nerve blocks or other procedures. My question is are mist people with pumps taking something for break through pain?

I didnt mention that im in the Tampa bay area. I have tried calling several other doctors that work on pumps and as i said if they do not do the surgery they will not take you as a patient. Does anyone have a doctor and a pump in Florida that gives oral medication for break through pain with any medication in their pumps?

I have a pain pump with sufenta, bupivicaine, clonidine, and baclofen. I first had fentanyl but it wasn't helping. My doctor switched it to sufenta. I have had 16 spine surgeries, spinal fusion, then fusion was removed due to MRSA reoccuring time after time, a year later a new fusion that was of the entire spine from the neck to the coccyx. That surgery is the one that has ruined my life. Since the second fusion, I have intense shoulder pain and tailbone pain 24 hours a day. They put in the pump after the second fusion and while it helps, I still have the pain 24/7. Sufenta is the last thing to use. It's 10 times stronger than fentanyl and I am on a very heavy dose. My doctor is one of the pioneers in pump meds and he has often said I am his "uncharted waters" case. I'm on the highest setting ever used of the strongest pump med and I have six boluses a day, every four hours, and still can't stand up longer than thirty minutes so yes, I have pain meds for breakthrough pain. I was on Percocet 10's for years. I have never gotten 'high' from them. When I asked how that was, my doctor said it was because I've always used them for pain and not recreationally. I was recently put on Oxycontin so it's yet to be determined how much it would help as I just took the first dose.
