Pain Meds Hard To Find In Fort Myers

My husband and I are fixing to retire in fort Meyers. I was reading where it was hard to find a drug store that dispenses oxycontin. I've been on oxycodone for 15 years from a back injury and have had a failed back surgery. Is it still hard to find these medications? this concerns me greatly.

What happened to the spelling in my earlier text I don't know . Anyway I was wanting to find out is it still hard to find a drug store that have oxycodone and oxycontin? I'm fixing to move to Fort Myers this year and I'm hoping not to run into problems filling my meds that I've been on 15 years .

Unfortunately yes, people are still reporting many problems getting such prescriptions filled. Additionally, since you'll have to switch doctors, you may also have a problem finding a doctor that will prescribe it for you. Such problems have been going on all over the country, not just in Florida, though.

Have you tried asking your current doctor if they have a colleague there that they can refer you to? That might simplify the process.

The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

The only time I had a problem getting this was when the locked safe at my pharmacy jammed. Needed it post surgery. However, Walgreens seemed to have no issues filling the script. Check with them. Constipation was awful. Gave it up after 1 day.
