In need of a new doctor. Mine is still my family doctor but cut me off of all my pain control, anxiety, & sleeping meds when I tested negative for Lortab & Percocet after a 9 day trip with my daughter's school to D.C. & 6 states in which I didn't carry my meds.I need one in Northwest Alabama that will continue to prescribe my Lortab, Percocet, Valium, & Ambien for chronic pain, anxiety, & sleeplessness. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello, Little Mister! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having.

Why didn't you take your medications on the trip? If you need them, it only makes sense that you'd take them all the time, as prescribed. I'm sure that's why your doctor has taken such an action.

If you require such medications on a long-term, ongoing basis, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place this year….. but being cut off by your doctor due to not taking them is going to create an issue, since that will be noted in your medical records. It's going to be hard to get a new doctor to prescribe anything.

Have you tried asking for a referral from your current doctor?
