The Oxycodone 30IR, MS 30IR, Dilaudid discontinuation. The pharmacists that have put in their order this month will still receive shipments for another month. However, the companies will start to cease manufacturing these medications in the next month or so.

Some companies were providing these medications unapproved by the FDA and they have forced them to remove them from the market, until the products can undergo proper testing for safety standards.

In addition, in just the past few days, the FDA made a decision to discontinue some medications, such as Vicodin and Percocet, due to the risks of people taking too much and overdosing on the Acetaminophen.

Here's a link to a news article regarding this decision:

All this shortage or discontinued talk is a bunch of BS. Unfortunatly, Pharmacies are a handfull of things the government doesn't have there hands into when it comes to regulating the PRICE on what they can sell medications. Its simple Economics of Supply & Demand. The pharmacist/owners of these pharmacies know damn well that any&everybody's getting/wanting these Oxycodone 30mgs(especially the Mallenkrofts or M's) pills. There also not oblivient to the fact of the street value. So there raising there prices and telling people the same story they told them last year when the so call shortage/price hike happened. So my advice to everyone's take a DEEP BREATH, RELAX & WEATHER THE STORM. Just remember lastyear, when things got back to normal as fars getting/price of the Oxycodones. So rest asure everything will be back to normal before to long.

The article about removing VIcodin and Percocet should be read again by whoever posted it. If youll read closely you will find that if this passes you will get hydrocodone and oxycodone without any combination of Tylenol in it or at least a lowered dose of acetaminophen.

I just had my Doctor switch me to Dilaudid 8 mg from Oxycodone as soon as I heard that it has become nearly impossible to find Oxycodone. I have 3 Lumbar pinched Nerves, Spinal Stenosis, Monthly EXTREMELY Painful Lupus Flare-ups, Fibromyalgia, and MORE! I AM IN CHRONIC PAIN. I SIMPLY CANNOT walk without pain medication. I live alone and Im so afraid that I will not be able to fill my RX for Pain medication when I go out today. With all these problems it is difficult to start the process of going from one Pharmacy to another. Is there a shortage right now on Dilaudid 8mg?? Could someone PLEASE guide me to, perhaps, a Pharmacy that might have the medicene in the Clermont/Groveland area? Thank u so very much.

This is my first time posting, ever. But I want to clarify something. I have been on generic Roxicodone (Oxycodone) IR 30 mg. for many years. My regular pharmacy is still filling my scripts with no insinuation a "shortage". However, despite the manufacturer being the same ones who I have been filled with in the past (Actavis) and (Qualitest), both companies are now dispensing something that looks very similar but, are very different. They are lighter in weight, slightly smaller around and a little flatter, but the biggest issue is they do not work! I have been suffering severe withdrawals since June of 2015 when I first noticed the change.

My pain level has been off the chart. Like most of us, I do not know how to initiate a discussion with my doctor. You have to realize, our doctors do not take these meds themselves, so even though they are educated on what the medications are "suppose" to do, they really can not relate to exactly what we go through. I do have to wonder if the new "Zohydro" would be a better alternative, which as most people know is simply "Hydrocodone" without the acetamenaphine. Maybe the manufacturer of Zohydro saw this change coming with the oxycodone ir and jumped in with this new version in attempt to profit, just a guess.

Green does not match oxycodone hydrochloride 30 . A green round tablet exists but it has a different Id descriptor and is a 15 mg. strength. So I'm not certain what you have there.

I was planning on giving up the 3 methadone I get every day for Oxycodone IR and Oxycodone ER but now I'm seeing where Oxycodone isn't that easy to get. I don't know what my insurance company wants me to do as they didn't like me taking methadone; yet it appears drug addicts can get all the methadone they want, which to me is extremely unfair. I need it for pain, not to feel high. I guess I'll have to get cancer so I can get the only medication that has ever helped relieve my pain. I don't know what they want me to do that as I've tried everything and nothing works. I'm going to try acupuncture but I know that it won't work, at least long term wise. I've talked to my doctor and she's also out of options as we've already tried everything with no relief. I simply don't understand if methadone is the only thing that works for me, why can't I have it?

"BL" said the "guidelines" had to be followed but the guidelines he's referring to are the old guidelines. Someone wrote up new guidelines because of the opioid epidemic, but there will always be an opioid, narcotic, or drug epidemic and writing new guidelines has just made things worse. In the small town I live in, a local man got his pain medication cut back so he went to the ER and just before he walked in, he shot himself in his right leg so he could get some pain medication. These new so-called guidelines are driving chronic pain patients to either commit suicide or do crazy things just so they can get their pain medication. All these guidelines have done is make chronic pain patients do crazy things as they can't take the pain because their pain regimen was taken away from them..... it's only made things worse. For myself now I find out Oxycodone may not be my answer. Now more chronic pain patients are dying than drug addicts!!
