Hi LadyM,

Sorry to hear about your experience with those Oxycodone pills. From what I understand, because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well.

For some people, these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking a completely different medication that may be absorbed and metabolized differently within your body (usually resulting in an increased or decreased potency).

I hope this helps clear things up for anyone else trying to understand what might be going on with their medication.

Wrre you taking 30mgs??? Because in other threads it says that the people with the negative reviews have been on 30mg oxycodone and then got switched to 20mg oxycodone and thats why theyr complaining about it.

Honestly YOUR comment alone has made me put in my head that it doesnt work for me and THAT IS NOT FAIR i finalli get the RIGHT doc to give me the RIGHT pills and you have to go and ruin it for me with your negativitiy. Like i deserve to have a good experience. Ive researched BOTH np 14 and k57 they are the SAME one pharmacy filled someones script a MIX of np14 & k57 if they were different than why would the pharmacy do that?? Ovviously quit your b****in cos you're an addict and just take the damn pills!!! Stop ruining it for other people who get these for the first time. Theyr good frickin pills, i shud know im studying pills, so.

Honestly, this whole situation is just insane. I can't even imagine taking that high of mg. Someone i know is a survivor from a head on collision via motorcycle with no helmet. He had to have eight surgeries and still to this day everything hurts he says and visibly his arm is completely jacked up. He fought this for so long to finally get into a pain management place and they have helped him greatly. Funny thing is to me is he is only on 10mg 3xday and rarely he takes his third dose. So, either his head on injury wasn't as significant as others or he just lives day to day because that's all we have is TODAY, NOW, not tomorrow, not the future. We are promised RIGHT NOW. So my suggestion is either try to ween down so your not in pain as much (from physical withdrawl), or have your dr adjust your meds because that is the problem right there why your having problems fill your prescriptions. They are outrageous quantity and milligram. Now I understand if it's the only thing that'll help that's fine I don't judge. But seriously, just re read this a couple times if need and then think about why it's hard to fill your scripts, why it's hard to find a doctor that will get you the highest mg and up to 6 times a day, and also why it's super hard for legitimate people like my friend I described up above to get any relief because people ruin it for the masses. He was hospitalized for a whole month, didnt know if he was gonna live, lived in a wheelchair for 2 years while doing a year and a half of physical therapy. So just think about it. Oh yeah and after the accident it took a whole 9 months to even get into a pain management dr because they were all booked out....yes the relief is probably outstanding but that relief is only a bandaid and what happens when you run out of bandaids?

Well, I would say because you don't suffer from pain you don't really have much room to speak on the subject. 20 MG is not all that high. I take 60 MG and 45 of morphine. Every one has different things that put them in a situation to be in pain that the only alternative is pain medication. But on the topic of have found when I have had mine filled that they do differ in the way they work depending on the producer of the medicine. Most times the pharmacy will go for what's cheapest for them to buy.

Well my apologies but, your post was rude and misleading. I work in the medical field have for over 20 years . I have my pharmacy tech degree as well. It is not ignorance. The fillers they use can vary and it can definitely make a difference in how well the pill works. Yes they CAN be different. Please do your homework before be littling people.

I agree 100%. The np15 20mg is far less effective than 15 mg ir. In fact in my case they are equivalent to the 10mg generic. This has been the worse holiday season in 15yrs. I am now bedridden in severe pain. And my doctor is not helping me. I feel as if I am being punished. Merry Christmas.

I pray they work for you without the crazy chest pain I experienced. Yes, I think we all know pills are different and each person is effected differently, and they can contain as little as 80% active ingredients in generic form or that some are completely counterfeit! Nobody wants to hear negativity. But for me....I thought I was going to die! Sorry, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. I since opted for 15mg non Zydus, and have less pain.

Yes 20 mg is not all that high of a mg. I know quite a few people on 30 mg pills that have nerve damage and some herniated disks. Seems like your buddy who was in the accident needs to find a new doctor. Not trying offend anyone here, i'm just saying, in this day and age, drs are prescribing 15s, 20s, and 30s more often then 5s and 10s with the Tylenol in them it seems. I have taken the 20s for pain and I weaned myself down to 15s for now but I agree the np14 pills (we call them pucks) are far less effective then the k57 pills. I also used to put them in a drink to take because I have a problem swallowing pills and they don't dissolve or break up as easy. Generally it's still oxycodone, but even with the 15s, I notice a slight difference in the manufactures. Each pharmacy carries different brands, I know like with the 15s, the ones with the A imprint give me some energy, and the ones with the V imprint make me drowsy. I looked them up and they slightly have 1 or 2 different ingredients. Ask your pharmacy to order you the brand you prefer, if you have a good reputation with your pharmacist, or if the side effects make you feel a way you don't like, they usually will help you. If not, take them to another pharmacy to fill!

The NP 14s are trash, absolute trash. The K 57s are head over heels better for pain relief. One NP 14, so called 20mgs of oxycodone, is the same as taking a 5mg oxy, does absolutely nothing if you have a slight tolerance built up but taking a k 57 oxycodone is and always will be better for pain relief. So the people that say they are the same are just lying to people and themselves. I took 3 NP 14s, so "60 mgs of oxycodone," and they did almost absolutely nothing. I took 2 K 57s, 40 mgs of oxycodone and I couldn't stop itching my nuts they worked so well. I have no clue why people say they are the same which they clearly are not.

I agree, these 20 mg Oxycodone made by Zydus Are awful. They give me little pain relief and make me feel extremely fatigued. I used to be on 10 mg Oxycodone and used them for breakthrough pain with my OxyContin. I could no longer afford OxyContin and was given 15 mg Oxy IR, but they were not strong enough so I was switched to the 20 mg by Zydus. I have been miserable ever since. I can honestly say the 10 mg work better and I know it’s not me because my pharmacy switched brands and started using Zydus 10 mg and I noticed the difference immediately. I changed pharmacies because they can’t let you order the brand you want and started using Epic brand and they worked great. Epic also makes the 15 and 30 mg Roxicodone. So any of you people saying it is in our heads is full of s***! All people’s bodies are different and what works for one person may not work for another and seeing that a professional indicates that there could be a 20% difference in these generic medications should be taken in consideration and quit calling people *****s, etc!
