Oxycodone is the strongest of the two, you'd need 22.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 15mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Hello, all. Just wanted to try and help anyone out there with the similar situation. Generic norco used to work, but over the last 5 yrs., total junk. Tried every brand, felt anxious, no pain relief. God bless my doc, he switched me to oxycodone. Everyone is different, but noticed that this med is different in a lot of ways....most importantly...it is like creeper. It takes longer to start working as opposed to generic norco. Don't take more than your regular dose because you may regret it....thinking it is not working just to find out it kicks in much later. It is not extended release, just what I discovered.

Generic norco was horrid. Like a placebo. No pill should be like powder as soon as you put it in your mouth. I have several herniated discs, lost part of my foot, LLD, etc. just to be clear. Oxycodone is cleaner, more effective, but like I said.....do not think it is not working because it kicks in later, like 50 min. so respect the med. God bless you guys. I know how important quality of life is. Making the switch was the answer for me, even though it is stigmatized due to the name oxy...(whatever).

We only get one life so fight for yourself and do not let anyone make you feel bad about yourself when trying to find what works for you. You should be able to have a med that actually does it's job. Not sure why generic norco has gone to hell....researched and alot of manufacturers are putting filler in them from other countries, ie, Mexico, China, etc.(one company who's name starts with a K is under indictment for putting illegal non FDA approved fillers in their generic norco). Do your research. Try to find a USA co. if possible. The IP204 has so far been working. Blessings to you. Jenna

Hey your message encouraged me a little. I took Oxycontin for over 30 years of my life successfully with no problems except constipation. I never abused it and it was great for me. Worked full time, raised my daughter from 3-18 as single father following divorce. I'm 70 now and 2 years ago Kaiser my medical plan, terminated my meds. I've been suffering in pain again last 2 years . My Doctor who prescribed Oxy passed away in 2021. Cannot find new Dr to prescribe now. I agree with what u said. A clean medicine w/out a lot of filler that works for hours on chronic pain. Great if respected & not abused. God bless you . Georgie, California
