Those are the ingredients, Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, it would be a generic for Percocet.

The side effects do not change if it out of date, you can still experience: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness.

However, they may not be as effective. Medications tend to deteriorate over time and lose their potency.

I have an old prescription for oxycod/apap 5-500mg cap, filled 2-2009. I am experiencing severe back pain from a previous surgery, and my current medication is not working. Will one of these be of any benefit or have they lost their potency? I do not like taking medications and that is probably why I have a couple of these left. I am in my late 50's and it concerns me, I have tried heat and cold, and even a TENs unit. My appt is not until next month, but cannot stand the pain in my back and leg.. thank you for your response.
