On My 4th Day Of Suboxone From Methadone

Me and my boyfriend were taking 30 mg of methadone every day for a year or so, and decided to go the suboxone route. His Dr told him as long as he was taking 30 mg a day he was ok to dose... ha!!! Oh my god we got so sick, him more than me, we are now on our 4th day and I feel fine, actually just normal, don't feel medicated, but he still can't shake the sickness, he says he had no energy, sick to his stomach, anxiety,depression, I don't know what to do. He had tried taking a small about 2mg and still feels the same as when he takes 8mg. Could it still be the methadone? Is there any relief? We have kids and jobs we have to be here for. Anyone with any experience please please please help. Thanks

Who ever your Dr is needs his head checked..it don't matter how much methadone you been taking ..you should never take suboxin right away exp being on methadone for a year 30mg isn't a lot but its enough to store in your bones and if u decided to take suboxin exp after taking methadone the day before ..ur gonna be sicker then a dog..ur Dr should a had you and your bf off the methadone for atleast a week before even attempting to give you guys suboxin.

What he was told by that doctor is not correct, you have to be in full withdrawal from all other opiates, before taking Suboxone, or it can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawal.

At this point, it is likely just going to take time for the withdrawal symptoms to pass, but he should consult a doctor for his own safety, preferably one trained in the use of Suboxone.
