Hi this is padma..i get married 4 months before..i have dought for this okacet tablets..can i used this tablet for cold,, fever,bodypains...
any side effects whenn am gettign pregnent time..i was some fear about this tablets..

Well from what I know okacet contains cetrizine which is an anti histamine. Hence it is meant to be taken to temporarily drive away symptoms of allergies like a runny nose, itching and watering of the eyes. Don't think it helps any with fever and body pains. Take a paracetamol to deal with that.

Side effect is mainly drowsiness but might cause a heavy head and headache. Won't affect ur fertility or chances of pregnancy. Not to worry.

Best to consult ur physician though!

In regards to these questions, even though they are several months old, I feel it important to state that for anyone who is pregnant, it is very important to always check with your doctor or pharmacist/chemist to be sure what you can safely take.

While this site and the people on it do their best to make sure to always present the most accurate information possible, there is no guaranteeing that some detail hasn't changed recently due to new investigational safety findings and they also cannot take into account your health, the stability of your pregnancy, other medications you may be taking and etc. since they have no way of knowing all these details.

That said, the original Okacet does contain the active ingredient Cetirizine, which is an antihistamine that's used to treat allergies, just as was stated by allergy queen.

Next, there is no such thing as a cold allergy, you either have a cold, or are having an allergic reaction to something.

If you aren't sure which it is, then you should also consult your doctor to find out, especially if you are pregnant, because it could be dangerous to use the wrong medication to treat the wrong thing and self-diagnosing is never a good idea.

A cold is caused by a virus and an allergy is a hyperimmune response to something that only happens when you're exposed to the element you're allergic to.

That said, in addition to the Cetirizine, Okacet Cold also contains Acetaminophen and Phenylpropanolamine and there might be some risks associated with using the the latter during pregnancy, so it should only be taken if your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so.
