No Period After Taking Primolut N

As per consulting the dr , dr suggest me to take primolut n, as I missed my periods by 15 days.. after taking primolut n for 7 days .. within the gap if 10 day I got my periods, by it was just 2 to 3 spots.. the same thing happened the next day.. can anyone guide me up ... Is everything normal with me

I had a course of primolut n for 21 days twice daily. As prescribed by my gyn to shed off my thick endometrium. Usually after 3 days my menses starts but this time already 5 days am feeling some abd pain but periods did nt start. Any help thanks

Reportedly Primolut N contains the active ingredient Norethisterone, also known as Norethindrone.

According to the National Institute of Health Norethindrone is used to treat premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, abnormal heavy bleeding, irregular periods, menopausal syndrome (in combination with oestrogen), or to postpone a period.

The instructions on the medication state that you should take 1 tablet 3 times a day starting 3 days prior to when your menstruation cycle is supposed to begin. The medication will postpone your menstruation cycle until you stop taking the medication and reportedly will start your cycle 2-4 days after you stop administering the medication, however, like with most medications your body may respond slightly differently.

Because this medication is a progestin it is not unlikely that it affected your menstruation cycle. Please consult your doctor if you experience any other symptoms or are concerned that this medication has altered your menstruation cycles after you discontinue it's administration.
