Nnj Have Medicaid Help Need Pain Dr

Please someone HELP!, I am desperate I have been taking morphine sulfate for my back for 7 yrs from my pain Dr for 7 yrs and after having emergency surgery I can no longer work after 25 yrs of working :( so I had to go on Medicaid the worst ins ever of course my dr doesn't take it and won't let me pay cash for the visit either! So all the drs I call that accept united healthcare community plan medicaid do not prescribe meds they only do inj's, really I can't just stop my meds? Does anyone know a dr in nj that takes my ins and prescribes moraine sulfate? Please please I need my meds next week. God Bless

Hello, Rosie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having.

However, you may be creating some of it yourself, if you're calling doctor's offices and asking if they'll prescribe Morphine. Most places are going to view that as being drug seeking behavior and will just tell you that they don't prescribe such medications.

The best thing to do would be to set up an appointment with a new pain management doctor, without asking them ahead of time if they'll prescribe a specific medication, make sure they receive a full copy of your most recent medical records and then discuss your treatment options at the appointment.

The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Thank you for your answer but I have worked in the pharmacy for 25 years and I know how it works trust me. I think I know not to call asking for a certain medication. Like I said its not the meds it's the insurance most of the doctors are dropping it! Thank you anyway
