The last time I took tizanidine, I had severe hallucinations for hours in the middle of the night. I have never experienced anything like this ever--it was very frightening. If you have this drug, I suggest you throw them out quickly. It is a horrible drug.

I have been taking tizanidine for over ten yrs and couldn't manage without it! My muscle spasms are so bad that I would be curled up in a ball on the floor without it. I'm sorry that your body has reacted negatively to it but not all patients experience these side effects. For me and other patients, it's a lifesaver.

I am new to this medicine. Only a week in. It's helpful but I find i am having nightmares and waking up with anxiety because of it. Gotta call the doctor to see if I should change medicine.

I've only taken the medication three times and each time I've had nightmares. I'm very prone to vivid dreams anyway so I have to be careful but this medication seems to be a trigger for me. If you are prone to vivid dreams or sleep paralysis then I wouldn't recommend this medication. Just my opinion.

Hello all:
I was on Tizanadine about a year ago and I hallucinated very badly. Now, I am 52 years old and I live with my mother because she doesn't want to live along. The first time I hallucinated, I saw a man standing by my bed dressed in blue and he had a blue toboggen on his head. I was so scared that I ren into my mothers room, woke her up and told her I saw a demon in my room. She replied "It's probably your medicine". Sure enough that is what it was. The last time I took it, I took half a tablet at 10:00 PM and the other half at 2:00 AM. I was in bed reading when all of a sudden, it felt like someone had grabbed me by my left side (side closest to the wall) and tried to roll me out of bed! I was fighting tooth and toe nail to keep from rolling out of bed. Needless to say, I was afraid and I was screaming in fear at the top of my lungs! However, I had a half a tablet left and I took it. After a while, something caught my eye and I saw a white blob go floating over my head. Yes it did kill the pain. I did get off of it. However, I am going to be back on it this week and I will be taking a lower dosage than what I previously had been taking.

I have had hallucinations the last two nights in a row and before. They are very vivid I open my eyes and see large spider like structures zooming at me. Or colorful lights everywhere. I take for help falling asleep. I don't think regular medication for sleeping should cause hallucinations. Weird.
