I have breast cancer that spread to my bones. For awhile now I've been taking norco 10's. They aren't working as well as they used my question is what would be the next step up for pain control? I have a dr appt in a few days and was wondering what he might put me on?

Hello, Hootsie! How are you? I am very sorry about your medical condition and that you're in so much pain.

It's hard to guess what your doctor might recommend, but there is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone that's available, without the Acetaminophen, in higher doses, so if it works well for you, that might be the way to go. It's called Zohydro.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

It's an idea you could ask your doctor about.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas that may help?

Hello hootsie.. PERCOSET 10/325 would be the next option for pain control. It's much stronger than Norco

Hello hootsie I'm so sorry about your condition, God bless you and heal you. The next step would definitely be percoset 10/325 I'm surprised they didn't give you when they diagnosed you. Anyway for now that should help you and later you'll most likely be on OxyContin maybe 20 mg and morphine. Wish you the best of luck
