Need Psych Dr To Prescribe Methadone N Klonopin Portland Oregon

I am stuck at a methadone clinic cause my Dr got in trouble for over scribing . I have 2 slipped discs that why I take methadone 160mgs n have PTSD anxiety so I was given klonipin. I need a psych Dr who will help.me out here in Portland Oregon willing to drive elsewhere if I had to. Pls help!

Hello, Emily! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having.

However, once you've been to a Methadone clinic and have that in your medical records, you'll have to stick with the clinic. Even if you didn't go for addiction treatment, the clinic treatment is listed in your records and it would be illegal for a regular doctor to prescribe the Methadone for you.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

A psychiatrist wouldn't treat you for pain, anyway, they would only handle your PTSD.

Klonopin is classified as a benzodiazepine that carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Since it is frequently abused, they may be reluctant to prescribe it for you, as well.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area that may help?

I am in Tennessee stuck on morphine after years of methadone with years of good results for my pain management of CMT, before my diagnosis through MMT. Anyone know of a doctor? What do you think of MEU's ( morphine equivalent units ) and why doesn't it add up if you put in methadone? Is this really the law on methadone now? Any one heard of clinics making a patient have a licensed driver? I am scared if I go to a clinic now that I will have messed up my one chance of being treated by any doctor and scared of being told I'm doctor shopping ! Is it wrong to want a good doctor? Ugghhh........

She cannot go to a pain clinic because she's gone to a methadone clinic?? That's so very unfair!! Spain physician would be more well suited to treat her back problems. A methadone clinic is well suited at all! If she happens to get worse then a pain doctor could refer her to the appropriate doctor or surgeon. Can a methadone clinic do that?? I'm not sure they can..
