Naproxyn What Is It For

I have a large, very painful hemangioma on my S1. I have been given hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325,ibuphrophen 800 mg, gabapentin, 300 mg and Tizanidine 4 mg which helps. Over the weekend, I have run out of Tizanidine and am in a lot of pain, also the sciatica is the worst. I was wondering if I could take naproxyn 500 mg to see me through the two days.

Can Naproxyn be taken instead of Tizanidine?

Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and should Not be taken if you're taking ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory drugs. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer.

If you're considering an alternative to the Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) for those times when you run out, I think it might be a good idea to look into research on effective doses of Valerian root which is also revered in the herbal community as a "powerful and safe" muscle relaxant. I've only taken it a handful of times myself, but can attest to the fact that quality Valerian has strong medicinal properties. Kava Kava, Kratom, White Willow Bark and Turmeric are just a few other options that might be worth reading up on as well. The only thing I'd recommend being aware of at all times is the possibility of drug and herbal interactions, just like common drug to drug interactions. However, your doctor or a naturopath should be able to let you know which ones are compatible or not if that's a path you decide to take.

Is there an over the counter Naproxyn 500mg? ## No, the only dosage approved for over the counter sale are the 220mg tab...
