I usually take 1-3 10/500 hydrocodone pills a day. I recently Ran out and have 60 mg morphine. I have never taken morphine pills.. had it iv in hospital a few times. Should I take it to ease the pain or what should I expect. A little nervous..

You should only take half or even a quarter, 60mgs of morphine is around 6 times as potent as 10 mg of hydrocodone, and the could be an incomplete cross tolerance effect aswell

Hi Kole,

Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain. But because it's your first time taking the morphine pills, I honestly think it would be best to consult with your doctor first, since they also have an understanding of your medical history and what dosage amount might be safest for you based on their professional opinion/evaluation.

On the other hand, nobody knows your body as well as you do.. and in the end every drug affects each person differently... so it's really up to you to decide if this risk is something you even want to go through with.. in the understanding that it may or may not work in the way you intend it to...or that you could possibly experience undesirable side effects.

Either way, your doctor should help ease any concerns you might have pertaining to the dosage, timing, and administration.
