To equal 60mgs of Morphine, you would need 15mgs of the Hydrocodone.

If you have Hydrocodone, with Acetaminophen, however, you do have to be careful not to overdose on it. You shouldn't take more than 1,000mgs of Acetaminophen at a time and no more than 4,000mgs in 24 hours, because amounts over that can be toxic and the toxicity reactions can be fatal.

Oxy is a more potent pill then hydro but also deppends on your body some people get a better high on one and not the other but oxy is the best instant release and you feel good cause it releases endorfants in your brain

I have learned over the last twenty years of dealing with scoliosis that it is better to use the 12 hour morphine tablets over the instant release. I say that because it seems there is less of a "high" and less of a desire to fall into a place where one is taking the drug for the high rather than the pain killing effects. I also am prescribed oxycodone with 325mg of acetaminophen for breakthrough pain and because it is instant release, works well with the morphine. Because the VA has come out with dosage requirements, they now will only prescribe a total of "180 morphine equivalents" no matter how bad your pain is or what you weigh etc. I was on 130 mgs of methadone taken over a 24 hour period which is about 4 times the pain relief with far less drowsy effects which worked very well for me. Now, I can hardly stand the pain and actually see dying as an alternative that makes sense and is not just for crazy people anymore. All I think about is how much pain I am in and can hardly think of anything else. It wouldn't be so bad if they ha.d an alternative such as an operation but they do not and do not care about anything other than exceeding that arbitrary level of morphine. Now I am back to trying to figure out ways to supplement the morphine and percocets and I hate it that they have done this to me. I thought I was going to be able to live a fairly normal life until now.
