I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have been taking mono-linyah since August. My doctor said I should not have a period but I have still been spotting non stop. I was instructed to only take the blue pills. Is this normal?

Hello, Carrie! How are you?

Yes, spotting can be a normal side effect for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to the medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.

If it continues past that time period, or if the bleeding becomes heavy, you should consult your doctor.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Between my second and third pack I started spotting. It has now been over 3 weeks of spotting every day. Is this a normal side effect?

I have been taking Mono-linyah BC for the last year and a half. Per my Dr.'s directions I take it continuously, so I only have a period every 3 months. Well...for past 2 months I have been spotting EVERYDAY; the flow has fluctuated from liner worthy to requiring a tampon, but the blood is always dark. I can't take it anymore! I'm not going to need BC anymore because I CANT EVER HAVE INTERCOURSE ANYWAYS! What is going on?

Basically if u still have periods in between you can still randomly spot. Ask your doctor if you can stop your periods altogether, meaning you would take all your pills except your placebo pills each month.
