Monafidil And Chronic Pain

It's being used for MS pain and other conditions from chronic, destructive, energy draining bone conditions. I lay in bed all day. I used to love getting up nd trying. I am now tired constantly from pain but wake many times from pain and having to urinate. What do you tvhink of it used for severe pain sucking life from me. Thank you, Theresa

Modafinil is a stimulant and is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, according to NIH reports. Thus, while it is used to treat some of those conditions, it isn't used for pain, it is used for the fatigue that can occur from those conditions.

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and insomnia.

It will not actually help to relieve pain.

Are you on any other medications?

Verwon, I have not pursued it, no energy left after caring for my pets that are getting older too! I can deal with pain if I can work around my home and upkeep. Sore muscles from working would help stop muscle waste and help me fall fast asleep! It would thrill me to work until exhausted rather than waste away and die. That is my life now. Wasting away with no quality of life. I'd rather drop dead with a heart attack than waste away to nothing. It's funny when I hear addictive. Is that like insulin support for a diabetic? How about a cancer patient? How much longer have I got before the grave;)? No disrespect meant, just morbid humor from the medical field. Thanks for responding.

Been ADD my whole life! It's not better now and gnawing pain makes me very aware of my ability to stick with anything. In seconds Im distracted by other projects, chores, books I enjoy looking through on subjects I research. That will never end. I say what can it hurt? I'm dying anyway!

I am taking Modiafinil also for MS and I have noticed that when I take this drug my pain levels have incrteased I think this drug is just fine to take for ms and the fatigue but mixed with pain this is the wrong med
I am thinking of contacting company about this

I have Fibromyalgia and have been using it in the morning for years to combat Fibromyalgia "fog" and fatigue. It is tricky to get insurance to cover it, though, unless you have sleep apnea, narcolepsy, or shift work disorder. Fortunately it is generic now and shouldn't cost as much s it used to.
