Hello, Mommyof3! How are you?

There is actually nothing that decrees that your insurance has to cover it, at all. However, since you are pregnant, you might be able to get an exception, so you should speak to your doctor about it, there is paperwork they can submit to make the request.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Many insurances do this type of thing with medications that aren't considered life-sustaining, but in your case, it could put both you and your baby in danger, which is why they might make an exception for you.

Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions to offer?

Thank you I got it all straightened out with my insurance and addiction specialist.I have been on it since the start of my pregnancy to get of pain killers.I got addicted to them since a really bad roll over car accident and getting pregnant was not what I was trying to do..I was also on birth control so my baby was a miracle. I got help as soon as possible.no relapse since I've started my program.I don't only take the subutex but I also attend three meetings a week.I plan to ween off after the baby and just attend meetings and continue going to my therapist.my doctor recommended I do this so and I think its a good idea also.thanks so much!god bless you.
