I'm supposed to be taking 180mg of oxycodone a day. When I had to change Drs. due to too much driving, my file is lost somewhere, so all I'm getting is 10mg of Hydrocodone 4 times a day. I'm beyond being in pain & I don't know what to do? HELP.

Johnnie, can't you get back in touch with your first doc, get a letter?? What about the pharmacy who filled the oxy? That's way too miserable and dangerous to wean that quickly. You are your own advocate and have to speak up to get help. Good luck

As to your file being lost somewhere, your original doctor should still have copies so they can send another one. There shouldn't be a way for them to lose it, since they usually just fax a copy.

That is a very high dose of Oxycodone, and most doctors are going to be reluctant to prescribe it, without proof it is required, since it carries the risk of being habit forming, and is frequently abused.

Alternatively, as Deedee said, you could try asking your pharmacy for a print out of your prescription records.

Have you had any luck, yet?
