Methylprednisolone Effects.

I was put on the 6 day methylprednisolone pack because of a back injury. I just took my first two tablets this morning. After I took them, I read its bad to take with high blood pressure. I have high blood pressure and take lisinopril for this but it doesn't always control it. Would I be okay just not to take any more of the pills? I only took the two, that's all. I would rather not take this medication after hearing all the side effects.

How high is your blood pressure?

There are cases where it may still be appropriate to take this medication, generally the doctor needs to evaluate whether or not the benefits outweigh the possible risks.

The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and edema.

How long will you be taking it and was the prescribing doctor aware that you have high blood pressure?

Why haven't you been prescribed another medication, if the Lisinopril isn't doing the job?

My blood pressure fluxuates from 170/104ish to 90/7. Hardly ever in the middle. I am waiting to be evaluated at the mayo clinic in Rochester MN because I have so many medical issues and need to be seen by a team to see what they can figure out. I'm supposed to be on the methylprednisolone for 6 days. But am really nervous about taking it. I also take methadone 10mg 3 times a day, trazodone 50mg at night, lamictal 100mg, amytriptaline 100mg, cymbolta 60mg twice a day, naproxin 500mg twice a day, vitamin D3 50,000 units, and vitamins B12, C, iron and magnesium. A lot of these meds say they can affect BP as well.
