Methadone Weightloss And Sweating

I am currently on a methadone program for about 7 months now and have gained weight and noticed I sweat a lot more now. Does anyone have any suggestions for a weight loss supplement that I can safely take with methadone? And what's going on with this sweating?!! Of course I am changing my diet and am exercising more regularly now but still not seeing results. Please help!!!! Thanks!!!

my dr told me that it was the methadone causing the sweating and it was pain or sweat and i chose sweating. it is really bad but i am now having trouble finding a dr that will take me and continue writing my scripts that i have been on for 11 years. i am in wa state and if you know anyone that will please let me know.

Hi Joyce,

Sorry to hear about the unusual sweating and weight gain. From what I've researched, both are in fact listed as side effects of methadone at:

It sounds like methadone is counteracting all your efforts to loose weight. With this in mind, there's no promising that any supplement will even work until you stop taking methadone (same goes for the sweating). As far as weight loss supplements are concerned though, I would encourage you to get your doctor's recommendation or opinion just to be sure there aren't any drug interactions. But here are some options that have worked well for me: caffeine, raw cacao, rhodiola rosea, schisandra berry, ginseng (korean).

If you take a Garcinia Cambogia supplement, that will help you loose the weight. AS for the sweating, it probably means your dose is too low. It is a withdrawl symptom. It doesn't actually happen when you are on a high enough dose. Of course, if you add to your dose, you wil gain more weight…

Hey, I've been in the methadone clinic for 7 yrs now and I'm here to confirm that methadone absolutely does make u gain weight and causes u to sweat profusely. That being said, I wanna tell you about a vitamin specifically designed for methadone patients, it's called vitadone or nutridone! Look this up on the internet, it will help with cravings, sweating, weight gain, libido and more methadone side effects. I thought i was alone i take suboxane and i sweat so bad that i dont want to leave my house. I can be doing little to nothing at all and i will break out in a sweat. I have never had this problem before and my dr said he doesnt jave any other patients with this problem. Why? Why? Why?

It's exactly the opposite. It's a side effect from the methadone period when your dose is low enough it's stops trust me I went from 1:20 to 55 and I no longer sweat and I lost 47 pounds without trying when I was at 120 mg I worked out and capped my weight loss at 10 lb
