Methadone Clinic And Drug Testing

I just started going to the methadone clinic about 4 weeks ago. I used to be a very heavy drug user, Heroin and pills were my life. When I took my initial drug test at the clinic I asked them if my marijuana levels were really high, and they told me they don't test for marijuana. I live in Texas. Does anyone know what kind of drug test they are using and exactly what they test for? I thought on all standard drug tests, they test for THC. Also I mistakenly took a 1mg football mistaking it for an aleve. In highschool i used to put them in aleve bottles. My mom just moved and the bottle was up in the medicine cabinet in the new house. OOPS. When I started feeling extremely relaxed, it clicked at what I had just ingested. This was 10 days ago today. The clinic tested me this morning. I'm not very familiar with this drug test and what exactly they are looking for. I used to work in a treatment center (before relapsing) and the addictionologist told me that klonopin can be detected for up to 2 weeks, but it has a MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT longer half life than xanax. I'm just looking for some people's feedback that are familiar with the clinic and the drug testing there. I AM VERY AWAY THAT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO MIX BENZOS WITH METHADONE. It has taken several of my friend's lives. No one has to tell me that, I have experienced it first hand. It was an honest mistake but if I come up positive, there is NO WAY my counselor will believe that. What do drug addicts do... con and lie to people. I'd appreciate any feedback people can give me.

If I am in the methadone clinic and I take a 10 m.g methadone pill but the clinic drug tests me, is it the same 10 m.g pill as the one I take in the clinic?

Methadone can cause you to look high, nodd out. To receive takehomes you have to have so much clean time and they do test regularly and randomly... Law was at least twice a month now its went up to 4xs a month.. If he was doing something else he most likely would not have take homes unless he was bringing in clean pee..but i would say its just the methadone and he probably needs to get split doses..his body is metabilizing the methadone to quick if he were to take half in morning then half in the evening he wouldnt be looking high all the time and probably wont have to move up his dose.. Also his dose could be too high..if its holding 24 hrs but hes still getting high he needs to move his dose down

Hey, my husband and I both have been on mmt since oct2011. In the beginning they tested us once a week & after having all clean tests, it was once a month & we worked our way to getting take homes & only going in scheduled once a month to get our med, ua & counselor meeting. We have to call diversion 2x a week an subject to having to go in with our meds to count & observed ua-- we both had same DOC dilaudid an that progressed to heroin. I was dosed at 130 & him @120. I've now gone down to 70 & trying to wean down completely. He's slowly going down also. I never had issue with nodding or feeling messed up but my husband does. It just effects people differently. He is selfconcious bc he's worked hard to get where he is and it's hard to see him like that sometimes bc it brings back hard memories. As he's tapered down it's gotten better. IMO your hubs should talk to the Dr at the clinic an tell him what's going on. In my state clinic is open 7days week & only closed on 4days a year. If the clinic is open 7days a week an he's got take homes, he's likely passing his drug tests. I hope thus helps you some & wish him very best of luck.. ??

I had lavender footballs from South Africa. They were the best ones I ever took. BTW Xanax 1mg come in several colors.

Usually only the people on a really high dose will not as methadone doesn't activate the receptors that give a "high".

I've been in mmt for a few yrs & I'm currently going down. I love my counselor & I've been to every rehab and treatment there is. Nothing worked, mostly bc I wasn't ready. I told my counselor from the start I would not lie & be straight up about everything bc this was my last chance at life. I suggest you be upfront and real. They can't help you if you aren't up front. If you don't have much fat & you only took 1, likely you are okay, but you will earn more trust & self accountability if you're real with them. Good luck & wish you the very best

Do methadone clinics test your take homes for methadobe? I go in once a week but I need a special take home, a day early. I'm supposed to take my dose in front of them, but I already took it. Can they test it for methadone?

Just be honest about it. If the clinic is any good they might be willing to do another u/a to see that you are now clean from the 1 mg football, just don't have it happen again because then they won't believe you. Methadone clinic should work with you the first few months, but after a point the excuses, even if true, tend not to be believed. I am on methadone in NM and if you're telling the truth they should at least retest you to see that the one time use is true. There are many methods they can tell if your u/a was tapered with, so don't do that, EVER. If you are serious about your recovery just be honest and you will gain their trust and most importantly, respect for being able to be honest and not lie. Good luck, just keep fighting to get clean, it is possible.

Yes it happens. Methadone while a life saver is very strong. Everyone I know on it myself included nods here and there unintentionally. They don't want you to go down with the dose because they fear a relapse. Methadone at a dose the clinic can control eliminates the risk of overdose while unfortunately causing the same effects as opiates on occasion via the nodding

Thank you for reading. I need your help. My husband has been in the methadone clinic for approximately three months. His drug of choice was heroin and pills. He started out at the methadone clinic at 40 mg and then went up to 60. He has since told me that he's now gone down to 55 because he keeps being tired. I've sat and watch them and about 8 and also during the day his eyes get extremely swollen and it's like he starts to nod like he's falling asleep and then his mouth goes downward like he's on drugs is what it looks like, but he swears up and down that it's the methadone. His counselor outside of the methadone clinic tells him that he needs to stay where he is and not try to come off of it. He's falling asleep almost when he's driving and it gets very scary. From what he tells me, he has take-homes on the weekends right now and that they drug test him every week. I have this feeling that he is taking something out and I don't know for sure if he's telling me the truth about take-homes and also if he's telling me the truth about his testing. So if there's anyone who's reading this who has been through this and can tell me how often do they really test and if you really think that he's on something just because he's still constantly is looking like he is on something and people are starting to ask me now, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your time.

I agree with this I did Klonopins for three days in a row and the day of my urine and it came back clean I couldn't believe it! There was no way that should have been clean it's crazy

No they can not been on the clinic for 15 years. Benzo shows same for all clonazapam alprazalam lorazepam diazepam if u took 20 day before it will be gone. I stumped about adderall I know if u have abenzo script ur fine I don’t have a script for this will it show and if it does what does it show up as.

Methadone clinic drug testing. Is the GC/MS drug test more sensitive than the Immunoassy test in detecting drugs? Or is it more accurate in testing for even lower levels of drugs? I am wondering what the difference is and if the better more expensive test will look for more trace amounts of drug or is there a "standard" cutt off? I seen a drug test that had a very faint line and wondered if the GCMS would test further to see just how much drug is in the sample. Or if the cutoff is for every type of test no matter how expensive or fancy the test it.

I am tapering off of Methadone on my own... I am at 25mg's going down one MG a week. I started to quit smoking and my anxiety went out of control and they prescribed me Clonazepam/Klonopin.... I am wondering If I take a Xanax, will they be able to tell the difference in the lab drug test? They send out all tests usually or do them in-house with machines... not dipsticks... It's an XR Xanax compared to being prescribed 2mg Clonazepam..... need to know asap!

Have you ever been asked to sign a waver for a blood test? If so is the blood test a drug screen? I have never had to sign one before and I smoked marijuana and I'm scared they are going to do a blood test.
