Methadone And Antibiotic Smz Tmp Ds 800 160

hi,i've been on methadone,at 90mg/once a day, for 5years. Due to an infection stemming from a cracked tooth in the back of my mouth that spread rapidly, i now have MRSA and am on my fifth round of antibiotics. They put me on Bactrim-two, 300mg pills twice a day,for 7 days. im on day 6 and feel like im full blown withdrawl. It started right after i started the Bactrim. Is there an interaction between the two?

Hi BB! If I were u, I would call the doctor. There's NO need 4 u 2 suffer. The doctor will b able 2 answer that. ( The methadone Doctor)

I haven't found anything listed regarding this, but several other people have posted about having a similar problem when taking this antibiotic, while on Methadone.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The best suggestion I can make is to do as Cats68 has said and consult your doctor, they may know more and could be able to offer a solution.
