Medicaid Louisiana Doctors That Are Suboxone Licensed (Page 5)

Updated

I had been on Suboxone for almost 8 years. In my opinion it is a wonder drug compared to all the opiates that the pain clinics are all too willing to prescribe .I have been out of my Suboxone for a week & a half. I feel like I am dying. I can not sleep. I have a 5 month old new baby boy. I can hardly pick him up due to the pain that I am in. I hurt all over. i have been so nauseated. My doctor who 's visits were cash bases only, however medicaid would take care of the actual prescription of 60, 8 mg. At one time I WAS PRESCRIBED 4, 8 MG SUBS A DAY. i WOULD KILL JUST TO HAVE A QUARTER RIGHT NOW TO FEEL LIKE NORMAL AGAIN. My doctor decided that he no longer wants to deal with any one with medicaid due to the fact that his office does not "LIKE TO HANDLE PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS " REALLY ......SO I am guessing that he really never gave a s*** about his patients at all because this is a horrible feeling. I would never wish this feeling on anyone. I really need to find a doctor in LOUISIANA south, that will prescribe this medication. Can you please help me?

Hey I'm gonna try this and maybe have a lil better luck than I've had so far...I have never done anything like this and don't even know if I'm on the right site. I'm on suboxone for about 5 years now and have been self medicating myself to be honest it's horrible! I finally have an insurance. Louisiana health care connections but I can't find a doctor that will see me and help me eventually quit them completely and the few I have tried they are never taking new patients or maybe I'm not trying the right one idk but if anybody has any info that would be helpful ID really appreciate it. Thanks so much

Hello all. I just got done reading through this blog and figured I'd ask for some direction bc you all seem very helpful/supporful. I just moved here from Florida and was seeing a doctor there with Florida Medicaid. I'm about to run out of medication so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I applied for Louisiana Medicaid and its still pending. I'm still covered with My Florida Medicaid right now though. I can't afford to pay cash.... So does anyone think that my Florida Medicaid will work? I could drive back to Florida but trying not to bc that seems ludicrous. Any help would be awesome. I live in CenLa btw but will travel if need be. Ty all.

This is really sad, all these people needing help for what the medical field has determined an addiction as a disease. I stopped taking suboxone because my visit was $130/month and I didn't want to be chained to any drug or spend any money. Now I'm on Medicaid too, and I can't believe the money grubbing doctors who make $500,000 to $1,000,000 a year don't want a pay cut. It's all bulls***. They complain about the opiate epidemic in society and then make it damn near impossible to help yourself out of it. It's all about money to these Rich f***s not helping people. That oath they take is bulls***. My doctor was Dr Sura in Baton Rouge and after a couple hundred dollar initial fee, it was a normal office visit fee of $130. He gave me 45 subs but I could have gotten more and just went every other month cause I only took half a day. Addiction sucks and opiates are the worst imho. Good luck out there. I know ur pain.

I found one sent from God! He not only took insurance but because of other medications, Fentynyl won't leave my system. He sees me in office and checks on me daily by phone. God is good and I am Blessed. He is a strong Christian!

Re: Lisa Sharp (# 94) Expand Referenced Message

Louisiana Medicaid does not pay for Pain Management Doctors.

Medicaid pays very little compared to other insurance and self pay patients. This is the reason very few doctors accept Medicaid. Louisiana Medicaid is worse than other states in what it pays providers.
