Mallinckrodt Percocet

I just got filled my Percocet is has M523 and is a oblong pill.I have never had one that looked like this.I have been taking this particular drug for a few years.I have a very bad back and arthritis.I have taken 2 of these pills in the last 8 hrs and I feel no pain relief, but am nauseated?I have always had yellow generic that worked very good. I wished I could take these back, but I'm sure they won't take back?I feel like I'm going to suffer for a month??

Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

There can be fluctuations from one generic to another, since under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20%, but they don't have to measure against each other, so this one may be a bit lower in the active ingredients than the one you were taking, before.

And no, they won't take it back. Once you leave the pharmacy with a prescription, they are not allowed to do so, due to the risk of tampering.

However, since the differences are slight, most people do adjust in a week, or two. Has there been any change, yet? How are you doing, now?

I'm still hurting?I know before I get another prescription I'm going to ask before hand what brand they carry???I hate to sound like I'm just being picky about the pain meds, but I'm almost 60 years old and I'm just looking for something that will get rid of some of this pain so I can continue to work?Thanks for the heads up about them not taking them back??Since I no longer have health insurance I have been going to different pharmacies looking for the cheapest prices???I didn't know if they would take it back and let me try to get another brand and pay again???Better luck next time!

I have used generic Percocet from Mallinkrodt exclusively in the 5/325 dosage. They work best for me brandwise compared to others. I think that brands make a difference and many people respond differently to different manufacturers products. Same as some people get relief from generic Percocet others from generic Vicodin.

I personally prefer the Alvogen brand Percocet 10/325 but was given Mallinckrodt brand and I find that they don’t help me at all. It feels like I’m taking a placebo pill... I mean no relief from my pain at all. Has anyone else experienced this with the Mallinckrodt brand Percocet??

Hi Charlie. That’s the only generic brand that works for me. I’m in Dallas and can’t find anyone that carries them here now :(

I have my legitimate script, but the Dallas Walmart quit carrying my Mallinckrodt generic M523 Percocet (10/325), in place of Rhodes. I couldn’t tolerate it and have lost a month of my life.

Anyone in the DFW area know a pharmacy that still offers Mallinckrodt? Please advise where to try. Thank you.

YESSS! MALLINKRODT used to be the best most effective ever! The they filed for Bankruptcy. I was so happy they recovered from that & came back on market late 2022; let me tell you it’s now the worst ever in no doubt a re-formulation; unreal side effects as if Big PHARMA is trying to make Chronic Pain Patients purposely ill! & zero pain relief to boot Please take my advice seriously & DO NOT TAKE THIS MALLINKRODT GENERIC OXYCODONE/ACETOMINIPHEN 10/325

I recently filled a prescription of this manufacturer's 10mg oxycodone hydrochloride/acetaminophen 325 in Mexico. I opened the seal and the pills are purple Squarish, football shaped. With some weird stamp that looks like a lower case i and a 7 or a capital L and i. But when I search about it, there's nothing listed about this manufacturer making a purple colored generic percocet. Can u help me? How can I check if this contains the expected ingredients?

Since after their re-launch post-bankruptcy, Mallinckrodt Pharma's generic of Percocet was obviously re-formulated to now being the very worst on the market! Horrible side effects plus zero pain relief, (i.e; ear pressure, dry heave, nausea, blurry vision, exhaustion, diarrhea, etc.). I know it’s definitely this & unrelated to anything else. Is anyone else feeling the same effects from this?
