I was wondering if anyone takes Adderall for the severe fatigue and has it worked?

Hi Lucinda,

From what I've researched, there are many studies, reviews, and drug descriptions online indicating that Adderall has a proven ability to decrease symptoms of chronic fatigue as well as improve cognitive function.

Its active ingredients (dextroamphetamine + amphetamine) are also classified by nih.gov as "central nervous system stimulants", that work by regulating certain natural substances in the brain.

One thing to note though, is that different manufacturers of generic/brand name adderall are reported to vary in their overall effectiveness. So it may be that you have to try a few versions out until you find what manufacturer works best. Perhaps the following related threads can help you give an idea of which ones work better than others:

Hope this helps!

I started taking adderall in 2005 for adhd. I then contracted Lyme disease in Sept 08 which was treated incorrectly. Lyme disease was still positive until treated with doxyciline Feb 2013. But complicated when fell into a toxic disposal site in river Sept of 10. Forestry never investigated. Only have rumors of a trailer parked for several weeks making bathtub crank. Am just today finding out I've been living (not living) with lupus. I've been for years trying to get a doctor any doctor to understand how my physical and mental have become intertwined. Because the adderal now plays a major role in helping not just my attention disorder but the horrible fog and fatigue I've been suffering having gone misdiagnoised and untreated for so long. About a year ago they changed the adderall to ER. And I'm still trying to get the doctors to understand or hear that it is not as effective as the tabs I'd been taking all these years. Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? I'm curious at what others are doing to manage pain. I have to take 4 7.5/325 just to be able to stand and beable to move around a few hours. That just began a few months ago. I have been crippled with pain living in isolation for almost eight years. Only living for hopes next appt next doctor will hear me. Went to doctors once because I thought I may have broke my arm. He sent me home saying I don't think so otherwise you wouldn't be able to do what your doing. Proved him wrong when I went to emergency couple days later. Point being my pain is so severe broken arm was almost trivial. Only discovered the lupus. How could doctor's have missed this? I may as well been living in isolation in a third world county. Bipolar borderline personality disorder for god sakes it not normal to live in this kind of pain. I actually was trying to find out about humanitarian rights. You Until the epidural I received a few months ago Id no idea. I'd been living in labor and now the brake I get in morning from movie is like being inbetween contractions. Wonder what the future holds? .
