my son was hurt on the job with
broken pelvis, other injuries include the tail bone, disc, he has to have surgery on disc now. He is in untolerable pain and is taking Loratab 10. How many can you take in a 24hr. period? HELP!!

The maximum amount of Hydrocodone available is 10mgs, though the amount of Acetaminophen can vary. Due to the danger of overdose, since the Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and the Acetaminophen is VERY toxic, he should only take it according to his doctor's or pharmacist's dosing instructions.

If it is not handling his pain, then he really needs to talk to his doctor, there are other options available to try to get better pain control.

Common side effects he may experience can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
