Lomedia 24 Fe

Updated

Hello guys I started taking lomedia 24 fe three months ago. I switched from minastrin. I switched because I couldn't afford the minastrin and the Dr said lomedia was the same thing. Since switching I have had 3 panic attacks I cry over every little thing I cramp horribly when I am bleeding. It's to the point of just laying in bed crying and not doing anything. I have bled most of this month. I had a reg period for 7 days except it was heavier than usual. Then a couple days after getting off I went to the bathroom and wipped there was a bunch of big blood clots but I hadn't been bleeding. Ever since that day I will randomly bleed heavily as if I'm on my period or sometimes worse and then a few hrs later ill stop bleeding and the cycle has continued for about two weeks now. I'm on these birth controls because my body rejects all the other birth controls I've tried everything from depo to the nuvaring nothing worked. Minastrin seemed to do the trick but it is pricy and my insurance wont cover it. I'm just needing some feedback here my Dr can't get me in for another month or more

Hello, Ashley! How are you?

Yes, the relevant websites for Minastrin and Lomedia list them as containing the same hormones, in the same amounts, but the heavy bleeding with clotting is usually a sign of too much estrogen. It might just take a couple months for your body to adjust, though the cramping sounds pretty miserable.

Were you aware that there is a savings card for the Minastrin? You can use it and pay no more than $25 for each prescription. You can find it at Minastrin24.com click here.

The FDA lists typical oral contraceptive side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and weight changes.

I have the discount card but your insurance also has to cover the rest and my insurance wont the lowest I can get it is like 47 dollars and being a college student I don't really have the money. I started my fourth pack of lomedia yesterday so I have been taking I longer than I thought and it seems like I feel drained now and cant get enough sleep

Then I'd suggest speaking to your doctor, because it just seems that this isn't the right one for you to take.

There are others that contain the same ingredients that may work better for you, such as LoEstrin FE.

Are there any other questions or concerns?

Hey, I just finished taking lomedia for the second month. The first month on it, I got my period in the beginning while I was on the white pills and then again while on the placebo pills. Second month, I got nothing, not even on the placebo pills. My boyfriend and I have sex a few times a week, but always with a condom. I'm a little worried that I could be pregnant, but I'm trying not to freak myself out too much! Do you think I have anything to be worried about, or is this normal? Help? Thanks!
