OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. I'm worried. I was sequel with my fiance but less only like 3 times this month way less than past 3 months of being on this pill and I never missed a pill past 2 months. I was late taking 2 of them only 2 to 3 hr late because of forgetting what time it is but other than that never missed a blue or white pill. I took a pregnancy test yesterday which would of been 30 days since had lot of blood period but I also bled 2 times for 5 days last month. But I did have those 2 spots 27 days after my period, but I'm worried because we never used a condom while on it. that's the whole point I wanted it for protection so we didn't have to use a condom, which hurts and rubs dry and we don't like them at all. And we can't have another baby right now with money etc and my heart has been having heart palpation for past 3 years. now I can't even handle it. I'm 119 and at 5'8 1/2 tall. I'm tall and thin. I haven't been eating the best either the past month. I have had tons of protein powder this past month. I got it for myself but cut down on other items to try for muscle. Can any of these play factor? I'm also on medication for my anxiety and I had to get off for first pregnancy - I can't go thru that again. So I was hoping I can be loving with my fiance and take the birth control and have a piece of mind. Please help. I'm about to go buy another test and today is 31 days since period. I normally get bleeding between 26 and 29 days but I have been seeing it is common even for 4.5 months into the pill to have a missed period. I'm cramping like crazy like it is here but no blood.

Hello, Blonde29! How are you? I understand your concerns and am happy to address this for you.

Not all women have their periods, while taking oral contraceptives, such as this. Some women's periods stop, or get very, very light and, unless your doctor feels otherwise, it's generally not something to worry about.

Other side effects may possibly include nausea, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms.

As long as you haven't missed any of the active tablets, then there's not much of a chance that you could be pregnant.

And yes, changing your diet can affect your menstrual cycle, as well.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Yes, it can be completely normal when taking oral contraceptives and many women experience it.

If your latest pap smear was normal and your doctor doesn't see a reason to worry, then you should be fine.

However, if your experiencing such cramping and misery, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different one.

Thank u so much, so as the anxiety I have I went and took the clear blue first of the morning and it said 'not pregnant' in words, so that's out of the way, but I used to not cramp this bad on this until the past 12 days. Now my boobs were so so sore when I had no bra on to help, painful sides and little nausea, but also I think mixed with my protein shake stuff has stuff in it too also cause some cramps. So I'm unsure. I really don't want to switch again. This is the 2nd one I tried and my cousin told me about this one. She said she loved it so figured me and her are blood related might be good. It has obviously worked, saying not pregnant now on 5 tests this past week. I'm going broke buying tests lol. Now no more since I'm 12 days late and it would of came up by now with the most best test to take at home. And I never missed an active pill in 2 months. I Did miss 1 on february 7th but that was a while ago now. Just want cramps to slow.

The added hormones could be causing the cramping. You may just need to give it a couple more months, for you body to get used to it.

Just started lo lo Fe, during the first row I was late 3x by an hour. During the second row I was late once by 10 hours (busy day, wedding). I took it as soon as I could then took another at my normal time but started bleeding & it's been moderate for a few days. Not sure if I should continue taking them or just ween myself back off of them? I just want the bleeding to stop and I think the pills are causing me to continue to bleed.
