My nephrology doctor prescribed me ketobest 3x a day. Last week my creatinine level was at 1.70. Today it came down to 1.32. My ultrasound is normal. Do i have to be worried? Do i have to use ketobest for a long time? I'm also taking colchicine for my gout.

Hello Allano,

To simply answer your question there is no scientific study that supports the claim that ketobest helps lower your creatine levels. Ketobest manufacturers report that it should be given as a supplement for people who have to intake lower amounts of protein and thus experience malnutrition. They claim this supplement provides essential amino acids without burdening the kidneys, however it will not aid in lowering your creatine levels or potassium because it cannot repair the damaged renal tissues.

I hope this information helps.
