the oxy is strnger???
i was told i was getting oxycodone IR (immediate relief) fast acting but short term relief too... but the pills i have are small round blue tablets that have an M on one side and 15 on the other side of them. i looked them up on the pill identifier and it says these are moriphine sulfate pills. they make me VERY sleepy! i didnt experience the same effects at all when i took oxy IR a couple yrs ago. they were only 5mg and these are 15mg. should i be worried that they gave me the wrong medication here?

No, they are not the same thing. Oxycodone is Oxycodone and Morphine is Morphine, though they are both narcotic opiates.

M 15 does contain 15mgs of Controlled Release Morphine, a generic for MS Contin.

So, it is much different from the OxyIR, which is an instant release. Oxycodone is also much stronger than Morphine.

Yes, it appears you received the wrong thing and should check into it. Do you know if this was a doctor or pharmacy error?

thank you verwon,
i think it would be the Rx that did this. the bottle says oxycodone 15MG tablets. but, as i mentioned, these are morphine sulfate pills acording to the pill identifier. guess i should call them tomorrow and find out.

I am currently with a pain managment clinic that has put me on morphine 30mg long lasting...not time release. It really hasn't been working out as I am taking more a day then I called and they told me they would adjust my meds on next dr.s visit which is 4 days away. needless to say I am very limited and have been trying to figure out a way to make my 3 pills in any case I woke up ill this moring...I beleive it to be detox as I have been on some kind of opiate since Feb of this year. So I have a family member..through marriage who is on oxycodone 30's w/M on one first ? is r these oxycodone 30' w/M time release/long lasting/or instant release. 2nd ? is will it show in a urine test even though I am taking the morphine 30's long lasting...I don't tink they will test me as I don't have a drug abuse history...but u never know...I only want to take these oxycodones just to not go into pls let me know if it will show oxy in urine test even though i am onmorpine as well

Oxycodone and morphine r not the same drug, oxy is a much stronger, approx. 1.5x stronger. There r however generic oxycodone with an m inside a box on 1 side and a score 15 on the other, these r a light green. The m in the box, I think, is the manufacturer - Mallinkroft..... I would definetely check back with mr Dr and pharmacy, especially if my pain wasn't subsiding....

Blue pill with 15 on one side and letter M on the other side
This is a small round blue pill with the number 15 on one side and the letter M in a box on the other side. This tablet contains 15mgs of Controlled Release Oxycodone, the active ingredient in Oxycontin, this is a narcotic pain reliever. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am prescribed this medication as well as Morphine 60 mg as well as a few other medications. I have Ms and complete nerve damage throughout my body so i am very familiar with these medications, UNFORTUNATELY. I would double check with your pharmacist just be safe!! Good Luck!!

Hi, yes it will come up on a U/A! Also it is extremely dangerous to take both at the same time. I was informed that oxy and morphine are on the same spectrum, what works for one person may not work for another. I have nerve damage after breaking my back. I am currently on 50mg slow release morphine. I have found that it works as good as if not better than other pain relievers. Oxy did nothing for me. You may be one of the few that it works better for.
