Is It Cancer Or Side Effect Of Zantac

my sister has been taking ranatadine/zantac .7aday for 7yrs....last febuary her skin went yellow her bowels were green and her waterworks were coffee coloured....which is a bad side effect of the tablets.... and the docter diognosed her with pancriatic cancer.. could the .the symtoms mimick each other .he diognosed her without taking a biopsy.the chemo doctor had a biopsy done and no cancer cells were found twice she has had a biopsy and no cancer cells found though he is treating what is wrong with her as cancer as a preventive measure he cannot say for a fact also another doctor at the same hospital and its a main cancer hospital in leeds doesnt know wether my sister has cancer,is there anyone who could shed some light on this ....thank you for any kind of help good or bad.regards. liz.

In my opinion you should get the following tests done for your sister; LFT, KFT, Eliza test and then only consult the doctor. Such situations arise due to liver or kidney problems also.(Liver Function Test and Kidney Function Test)

And my question is, what was she taking?

You said: "my sister has been taking ranatadine/zantac .7aday for 7yrs" and there is no .7 dosage of Zantac/Ranitidine, nor is there any dosage that should be taken 7 times a day, so I don't understand what you meant.

This is just an antacid that's normally taken once daily, but sometimes twice if someone has serious acidity problems, such as ulcers.

Those symptoms CAN be a side effect of Ranitidine however as Verwon said, 7 dosage that seems wrong. I just went from 2 to 4 a day, and I didn't even know that was do able?
