Is Everyone Who Takes Pain Managment Treated As If We Are Drug Abuseres

Back in 2004 I had to have C5-6-7 and all the discs removed and replaced just to get the pain level from a 10 to about a 5.Between surgery and meds I got the pain to a level 3,then "My" pharmacy up and quit carrying those highly addictive oxycontin 80mg 3X a day.It caused me to total my car,Don't ever take those oxys.I paid my pain Dr. to watch out for me.I would never have taken them but thought I could trust my Pain Dr.I went from Nov. 24 to Dec.29 in horrible withdrawls.I'm on MS Contin 60 mg now ,if I can get them.If I try to fill them at pharmacy I am treated like an addict to be shunned.Even in the Hosp. I am treated worst than a dog.Am I the only one constantly being put through withdrawls?

Hello, Rand! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you've been having and the fact that you've been suffering.

And no, it is not just you. This has been going on all over the U.S. to almost everyone in pain management. Things have just gotten ridiculous and there are some shortages going on that have made things even worse.

Do you have a regular pharmacy that you use? That would likely make it easier for you and you wouldn't get such bad reactions.

The last time I was at my long time(12 years)pharmacy I was out for 4 days this time.The day before I had srent $100 on cab fare looking because They aren't allowed to tell Us if They have them over the phone and I have to risk $20 on cabs to see if They even have them.That day my pharmacy said it would be there the next day so I took a cab to get it so I could get home.After waiting patiently I gave the newest,new manager my prescription and she walked off to check?When she came back said no We don't have them.A couple of seconds later I asked when did she think she might get them and I eas told "Maybe next week".I blew my top,they called the cops and on of them picked me up and slammed me down on the couch ,not 10 ft. from the counter, then climbed on top.As he was growling threats in my ear the other cop just looked away.Needles to say I am no longer allowed in that independently owned Drudstore.Corp. says not responsible for availability or price.Its worst than Domestic Terrorism If this next colonoscopy says cancer I am screwed as far as any hope for a little help with the excruciating pain. This is no life, but I am too stubborn to die. Either sell them or not, if not We won't bother You for anything ever again.

As I mentioned,This happened at my long time Walgreens-12 years.Three days before I went from my neighborhood Hosp. with a prescription for migrain meds and ended paying $400 for 12 tablets that didn't work,two days later I had the _hit kicked out of me in my pharmacy and was told by the cop if I come back I was in trouble,what drag me to the glades and leave me for the gators.Corperation said they are independantly owned and can't control availability or price?They are joking right?

I don't know about any one else- but it annoys me to no end. I have not had an increase in meds in 9 years-in fact I get less. I was perscribed 15 mg of oxycontin because I have one kidney and cannot have a lot of tylenol. I had a major back operation where I was in so much pain I would not have lived that way. Now it is manageable but I have more problems. I used to get 8 a day and I took as needed -not by the hr...I never asked for an increase. Then 5 months ago- they announced -everyone to long acting- the oxycodone LA was not covered by insurance-so they gave me morphine-and I vomited- alot-then they switched me to fentanyl which made me so dizzy and out of it..they would not take me off until my next visit-so i switched drs. he gave me 6 instead of 8 -now I have lime doiesease, fibromyalgia ,RA and back nerve pain-and the pain med -not working-I can't even take ibuprofen because I am on blood thinners..whenever I am at the hospital for surgery they play games with my meds and I actually had to tell one of the burses off because she dis not want to give me meds..I am sick of it- try living in my body- i think new doc won't help me cause I won't let them put me through all kinds of crap now that would make him a lot of money. is there any help out there?
