Hello, Sue! How are you?

Oxycodone is actually the strongest of the ones you've mentioned.

However, the formulation may come into play. Were they all regular release or were some of them time released?

How can you only be on 30 mil. every 8 hours? I'm in pain every day. I see my Dr. every month and I just got off my oxycontin because my pharmacy where I live doesn't carry oxycontin; only in dif. towns. He took me off and put me on 30's oxycodone 6 a day instead of 5 30's a day and took me off my oxycontin 30 mil. 2 every 12 hours. So I'm confused why you and other people on this site say they are only on 30's every 10 hours... that's totally wrong. Your Dr. doesn't know how to prescribe for your pain. Look for a pain specialist for PAIN not a regular Dr. They don't know how to prescribe for pain. That's what I think is the best solution in your case. Feel better soon!!!

I noticed several people had recently had their pain medication cut..My Dr. cut me at the last visit. When I asked why, he said the DEA had sent letters to the Drs in his area.I was on a relatively low dose (3 oxycodone a day). He cut me to 2 oxycodone and 1 15mg of Morphine take at bedtime..Any one else had their medication reduced in the last month or so..not a big deal (changing Drs. in June and can only hope she can help me). I'm just curious, so for funzzies, leave a comment or put yes if you've been reduced..Thanks, Nia

Yes losing even 1 pill can sometimes just makes the pain get worse, but I got a prescription for Mobic which is a prescription dose of Aleve..They told me loud and clear to take only TWO A DAY..(caps were used to show their loud voice). When I still had the three oxycodone, I rarely took one, so I had a good supply..My dose is the very lowest so I'm taking 4 a day and I am reasonably comfortable. I have one more visit and have an appointment with a Dr. my roommate uses..He's 65 (we're old darts). He gets a 25mg FENTANYL patch and 120 oxycodone..He can work very hard around his house and maybe, just maybe hurt..usually it's when he carries 25 gallons of soil (we have almost 1/ 6 acre garden that's producing food). Now that's fun work and you just go pick what you want for dinner..I want to be able to carry 20 pounds and have fun like I would love to have my pain level down; to a 4 or less would be awesome.. I wish the dammm DEA would read some of the posts where we're hurting and not on large doses and our quality of life isn't that great as they think....
