If You Take 1 Hydrocodone A Day Will Become Addicted

I have severe lower back pain and i would like to know if i just take 1 hydrcodone as needed a day will i become addicted

Is there a non narcotic pain med they works just as well so i don't have to worry about addiction ?

I think you may be confusing dependence and addiction. Dependence can occur with anything that you ingest regularly for a long period of time, even your morning coffee. If you stop abruptly, you will usually experience some minor withdrawal effects, but they aren't commonly serious or dangerous.

However, addiction occurs when someone abuses something. Usually, they like some side effect that it causes, such as a feeling of being high, but those eventually wear off, so they have to keep taking more and more to get that feeling back. That is when a sudden stoppage would lead to severe and possibly dangerous withdrawal effects.

I'm good don't need anymore answers thank you much........
only taking hydrcodone only when i really need it didn't take any today focusing on other things to keep mind off pain and not over doing things to irritate back no more than i have too.
so as far as getting addiction mixed up with dependence i do know the difference i don't have either one.
i don't take meds unless necessary i even hate taking my vitamins otherwise i hate taking any kind of pills so i really didn't get an answer that applied to me last time.
i hate any kind of drug in my system that can cause addiction yes i said addiction not dependency i don't go there either.
I am going this week for a nuclear bone scan maybe i will get some answers why i am in such pain i have had x rays and a MRI already.
I just refuse to take anything that controls the why i think or function it is not a fun to feel that way some might like it i don't, i just pray a lot now asking God to give me strength to get through this, i beat cancer now i have to beat this pain and believe me prayers help otherwise i wouldn't be here today.
Sorry if i sound angry it is just when i asked about will i become addicted to hydrocodone if i took 1 pill a day it became mistaking addiction for dependence i know the difference between the 2. and yes i found out you can become addicted to this drug even taking 1 pill a day so i answered my own question.
