Hey Buddy
I feel your pain literally. I have exact same back issue, I was doing handfulls of vicodin, it was not doing a thing, so I am not taking them at all now, just crouching on the bed.

Here is some cruel irony. When I did make the incredibly painful 3 hour trip to my doctor's and back with Rx for the 30-weight-oxy, I discovered that no drug store in the city carries it.
Here's where we can than Michael Jackson, Rush Limbaugh and others for their addictions going public.
In the mean time I have turned my bed into a work station.

I heard that this is something you can get a marijuana card legally if you are in LA

Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic pain medication. Due to the risks of abuse and addiction, many doctors are fearful of prescribing, regardless of how much pain someone is in.

That said, have you tried looking into pain management? I lived in MD for a brief period and I know there are several good places in this speciality. They should be able to help you.

Have you tried speaking to your doctors about getting a referral to one of these places?

Look up a pain specialist in yellow pages phone book. Ask for 15 mg.x 6-8 tabs per day which would equal 3-4 doses total. Tell dr you take 2 per dose but schedule them 1-2 hrs apart so you wont get too dopey feeling.

Go to a pain doctor, IF you need they will prescribe. If you go in asking for oxy's no legit doc. will give them to you. You need to follow their advice, if nothing else works they will give them to you. To many fakers out there for doc's to be anything but careful.

All of you out there who are looking for oxy's and are willing to meet someone even in far away strange places, please be careful. I KNOW what your going through, I take 1000mg of oxycodone per day not a 100, a 1000. I started on vic's and then perc's, and then oxycontin, OPM, anything to take the edge off of a withdrawling day. remember it's a felony in most states to posess and sell opiates. Be careful, lifes a bitch but hang in there.

First I'd like to say I'm deeply sorry for your situation. Also what I'm about to say is with the up most respect to you,and anyone who reads this post.I mean know disrespect in any form.Well here goes so please keep an opened mind.(ok?).As a patiant that has had several hip replacements, hip revisions, chemo, and two ankle surgeries I personally know about chronic pain from getting hit from a drunk driver at the age of 28,and now in my 40's.I always wondered when I was younger why doctors would see me in excrutiating pain, and only prescribe vicodine, and 5 mg. oxy codone?.Well as the years went on I needed more surgeries just to walk.I finally found what I thought was my doctor who cared in my early 30's.He wrote me out very high dosages of VERY STRONG both long acting, and short acting pain meds. for several years.I found out the hard way he was setting me up for failure, because when he moved three states away that I was in DEEP!!, REAL DEEP!. I never used illeagle drugs or abused my meds.,but my new doctor that I got transfered to said I was untreatable if I were to have an emergency surgery, and although I seemed to funtion very well he said that the new facts on pain management speak very clearly. After the human brain takes in strong opiods for over 3 to 4 months every day at dosages of 40 to 50mgs. a person is with thought a doubt dependant.Needless to say I was up to 1200mgs.That was a quadruple leathal dose, and ONLY giving to people with Ultimate sever nueropathic, and cancer pain, and with a heavily monitored structure envirement. Not ment for people out driving to work sever pain.He agreed to treat me at 200mgs. The hell I went through getting my brain recepters to accept 200mgs. over a 6 month whene down process was pure HELL. Now please don't let me confuse you. I realize you pobably don't even need close to what I have to take to just do my hygiene, and get through the day,but here is the most important part of what I'm trying to disclose. After going through what I went through my new doctor, and now currently the most respected man I know, and care to know, told me this.( We are taught in medical school to help our patiants to the best of our ability, and to do no harm. What our younger patiants need to understand is that the human brain is not fully developed untill the age 25.In our human brain are many chemecles, and string recepters.with that said their are 3 VERY important brain chemecles that controll our emotions, and daily brain funtions like reasoning, sexual drive, anger, anxiety, joy, sadness, and on and on.These three main brain chemecles are Serotonin,Dopamine, and Noreneprinephrine that bond to our brain recepters. The problem is OPIODS when taken bond directly to these recepters cancelling out our pain. Please I hope your still with me.The Doctors have the daughnting task of taking our pain down to a tolorable state without destroying our brain recepters. They are literally walking on thin ice. Then they have to evaluate every patiant to make sure we have credible need that over seeds the terrible risk, and side effects of prescibing opiods in the first place.NOT to forget they also have to play detective, because of the abusers.Personally it's a wonder pain doctors have any hair left?I would not want the responsibility of prescibing pain medication, but now in my 40's I respect what they TRY to accomplish by helping those millions of us in chronic pain.I'm not a health care professional in any way,nor do I want to influence anyone's dicissions in this matter. This information is my opinion.I advise anyone who reads this to always only take advice from their doctor as their doctor feels to give it,but by educating yourself in a healthy manner will help you understand this subject in a more hightened sence of understanding how complex this can be.Also you will be better equipt to gain trust with your doctor, and give him time to really get to know you,and then you might be astonished in a year or two that he is a better doctor than you first though he was.I deeply hope you,and everyone else out there that is truely in pain properly get the best of health care in your area that you can.Sincerely, someone who cares.

.. look you have no back problems, just admit you are hooked on perks .. because I am .. if you go into a doctors office and request a specific pill they won't give it to you.. dont take us for idiots, you just want to be able to sell some and eat them for free, because thats what I did for the longest time. The doctor WILL NOT GIVE YOU 30mg perks right away .. he will start you at 5's... after 6 months put you on 10's .. 6 months, 15's .. 6 months 30's .. 6 months, OC 60's .. 6 months oc 80's .. IF he doesnt think you're just a f***ing junkie. REAL TALK. Dont BS a BS'er.

i agree with madcap180, you have no pain you just want some 30's to feed your addiction. good luck its the fastest growing addiction right now, and you've gotta actually have a problem to get past the docs. now, and hey, they already made non abusable OC's....give it a year maybe before they make the perks non abusable, good luck!

To get the 30mg oxy codone you need to have an MRI...there are so many doctors you can go too and get them no problem..tell them you were going to a recent doctor in a diffrent state and thats what your were getting prescribed and thats the only thing that helps you..be very thorough and kind and in pain

For anyone looking to get this type of pain medication, you WILL need to go see a dr and get a MRI ordered. Once they review the mri and determine there is a legit issue, THEN you can start getting some decent pain meds.

Re: overthetop! (# 16) Expand Referenced Message

It's not them, it's government and docs deciding they rule what others can or can't put in their body... No one would have to worry about addicts if they got what they wanted... I'm in severe pain and i don't blame them why docs won't write me stronger s***... I blame the doctors who get people hooked and then cut them off pretending they are some moral guardian who gets to decide what I want to do with my body.

Re: paingot2go (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

Yeah well some of us live horrible lives in pain everyday barley able to get out of bed and still have to drag myself into work... if i want to put 30mg oxys in my system that take away all my anxiety, make me a better caring understanding person and gets rid of my pain... IT SHOULD BE MY CHOICE TO PUT WHAT I WANT IN MY BODY. IF I WANT TO TAKE ENOUGH MEDICATION TO HELP ME EVERYDAY UNTIL THE DAY I DIE... THAT SHOULD BE MY DECISION AND MY DECISION ONLY...

IT'S COMPLETE BULLS*** DRS. GET TO DECIDE IF I GET TO LIVE A HAPPY PAIN-FREE PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONAL LIFE NOT THEM...

It's my body and i should be allowed to dump what i want into it as long as I'm not hurting or stealing from anyone... which doesn't happen unless someone goes through withdrawal... if i had enough to cover me getting sick and enough to take care of my pain every day never having to worry about running out or worrying about getting shot for having to go to a street dealer than a safe doctor... that's the way it should be...

If i want to pack my liver it should be my choice and no one else... if i can make it i will but if doctors are sooooooo concerned like you say they are... they would write me what i ask for rather than let me possible kill myself with a bad batch over the clean stuff they could easily give me... ill sign paperwork taking all liability...

Not all of us have lives worth living, certainly not worth it being sober...

My name is William. My phone number is {edited for privacy}. I had a cronied pain on my hip and on my spine and also had a back problems. I had a surgery on all of them but they are still hurting. I have been taking 30 mgs of oxycodone for my pain and they want me to find another pain doctor because my primary care doctor can't prescribe my medicine anymore. Please help me.

MAC, yes I could certainly use your help. I've been looking for a reasonable PM doc in the area since a car accident outside the Horseshoe Casino this summer. This accident has primarily affect my cervical spine, though I'd already been suffering for years from chronic T-spine pain, chalked up by docs to an arthritic condition brought on by years and years of running 90-100 mile weeks. MRIs so far have only shown narrowing of the spine so getting a doc to help me out has been a fruitless endeavor to put it mildly.

MAC, very interested. Having trouble finding a reasonable PM doc after a car accident in July (which had been preceded by chronic thoracic pain from an arthritic condition caused by years of running 90-100 mile weeks). Please let me know how you can help

yes it very well could be your age I started getting migraines at age 19-20 and my doctor went for 20 years sending me to everything possible to see if there was a reason I was getting them and I said that's fine but I can't take this pain because after a few years they became daily severe daily migraines it here I understand when you say you were ready to take your life because I was only I had a child by this time and there was no way I could leave him anyway...
If I were you I would either try different meds there are other long-acting medications such as a fentanyl patch long-acting morphine etc those both work for me but there are more or if your doctor just won't try anything else you're going to have to find a pain management doctor who understands pain and pain medication..
I wished I had before I spent 20 years taking way too much excedrin and now have a ruined stomach on top of the migraines...
thankfully 17 years ago I found a wonderful pain doctor who put me on the long-acting meds with short acting for breakthrough pain he saved my life I was no longer in screaming pain daily and my life isn't perfect but it's much better now I'm just working on my stomach and that kind of thing but yeah that's what I would suggest you do... if you don't know where to start go to google and type in your area State pain management doctor and read up about all of them... good luck and I hope you find relief!

I can answer this one for you. I have been on oxy 30mg for over a year now and my dr is now wanting me to see pain management and the 2 places I have been to they do not want to put me on the oxy 30s. So even if they did get a referral from their current dr that is prescribing them the oxy 30s the pain management Dr's don't have to continue you on them they can put you on whatever they want to so that's why you see so many people on here asking about good pain management Dr's that will keep prescribing them the oxy 30s just like i am looking for the dr that will keep me on them. Just because you see people asking about pain mamagment Dr's who will prescribe them does not mean they are junkies they want the medication that's actually been working for them.

Help in MD,

I am interested in the names of doctors you mentioned, Passing a drug panel is not a problem. I have even gone as far as having a neurostimulator surgically placed in my back for the pain. Nothing has really helped and the PA at my current doctor blames my weight for the pain. Its annoying and upsetting when my issues prevent me from functioning because addicts have made pain medication so hard to get. Thanks for your help.
