Hello, Wondering! How are you?

What problems did you have with Zohydro?

This is basically the same thing, it also contains Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, in an extended release formulation. It's just manufactured by a different company and the time released mechanism is different.

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

To the initial poster.

If you are reacting to Zohydro's initial lack of any type of anti-abuse deterrent, Hysingla ER has such deterrents in place.

While there is a lot of controversy surrounding these new extended release hydrocodone based medications, as someone personally prescribed Hysingla ER for chronic pain, the ability to take one tablet per day with 24 hour pain relief inherently reduces the sense of dependency normally present with a multiple IR hydrocodone dosing. Overall, the experience has been one of tackling pain with a sort of autopilot factor, where there isn't a need for manual dosing or having to carry extra pills throughout the day.

In my personal opinion, outside of the unfortunate world of addicts, this extended release medication has a sort of "fire and forget" nature which will reduce irresponsible dosing behavior which can lead to self doctoring and ultimately addiction.

It's long lasting pain relieving properties have reduced the mindfulness required of pain medications involving manual dosing throughout the day.

Hi. Im taking care of my mom who has tremendous back pain after back surgery that is over a year old. She is 80 and nothing seems to work for her back pain. Dr. just gave me prescription for Hysingla ER 20 mg, and I can't even find it at any pharmacy? Did anyone have this problem? Where did you get yours?

The pharmacy can order Hysingla ER. I use Walgreens or Target & they both had to order it for me.
