My Dr changed me from 10-325 to 5-325 because I broke the pill on half. The 10's were barely working. He said they did not appear in my metabolites. I called him out on this bc he must have lied. I never missed any dosages. I think he was wrong.

Hello, Georgette! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain.

If you were only taking half of the prescribed dosage, then the amount might have been lower than it should have been and, in some cases, that's treated the same as it not being detected, at all.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is he still prescribing the lower dose for you?

Well, I was on hydrocodone 10/325. I have chronic neck back, shoulder, and joint pain. The 10/325 helped a little, but have been saying that for months. So, he changes it to 7.5/325 a nd is no help at all. I am in pain all the time. Just like everyone else is saying, they use the getting addicted crap, and patients are not getting the help they need because of poo people who go get them and are addicted, or selling them. I am so tired of going to a Dr. and being treated like this. Now, they did pass the Law where instead of getting your prescription from a nurse practitioner, family care facility, to they are no longer aloud to write them, and you have to go to a Dr. The Dr. Can only fill it for one month, so you can't have refills anymore on pain medicine. If you are on low income, no insurance, you have to pay a Dr. Every month plus the medicine. People cannot afford this. But it is a bill that has been passed, that changed everything. I am so sick of having to go to Dr appointments, and then be treated like your a addict if you are in pain.

What is worse for your stomach? Taking OTC pain relievers at a bit of a higher does, or taking hydrocodon acetaminophen 5-325? Looking for the best pain relief with the lowest stomach pains.

I am taking the Narco 5/325 for radiculphapy (narrowing of the vertrabraes) in my back, Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and legs plus, osteoporosis, and arthritis just to name a few but anything with acidaminaphen(sp?) always upsets my stomach. Is there anything I can ask my Dr for that is about the same minus the acidimenaphen(sp?)

Hey Laura, you can ask you doctor to change you to oxycodone without the Tylenol in it. It is a bit stronger than the norco you have been taking but is pretty comparable. I hope your doctor is receptive and willing to help. Best of luck!
